Amcrest Smart Home "Server" down?
Re: Amcrest Smart Home "Server" down?
If the server is still down in your area for what ever reason I was able to get my doorbell to reconnect after a Reset even though i just did a reset after the FW update but did one a few hours ago and it was back online.. My source at Amcrest says they are still working on the server issue to try and find out why and what is going on.. Might be that it is still down for some then yes that could be a message

@Revo2Maxx - I can confirm that my AD110 is connecting to the same IP's today as it was yesterday, but with one additional 34.232.113.251 TCP connection, also located at AWS Ashton VA.Revo2Maxx wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 11:09 am @GaryOkie you able to do a Log of what IP it is currently running on? I did a factory reset and the Doorbell is back up and running yet the First IP in your list the TCP ip is still showing offline or at least it isn't ping able? IS your Doorbell camera still saying it is using that IP or a new one?
My point in listing IP connections was after discovering SmartHome backend is hosted on AWS cloud, so a specific server "down" outage was unlikely.
I did compare an AD110 config.backup from before the firmware update to one created after the update and noticed some major differences and additions (for example, ONVIF config info is new).
There are several hostnames and IP addresses listed for various services (registration, talk to camera, etc). These servers aren't pingable probably because AWS blocks ICMP at their firewall, not that they are offline. I did spot check a few and they respond to the port listed.
You can create your own config.backup via:
http://<ad110_IP address>/cgi-bin/Config.backup?action=All
Towards the bottom of the file you will see various hostnames, such as p2p.amcrestview.com, dms.zencamcloud.com plus their ports and access UUID and keys. I noticed these keys are very different in the new config than was listed in the old firmware but the hostnames are the same.
One last point - the old config was 4327 lines long and the new is 6614! That's 2,287 additional lines of config data generated - so this was no minor update.
Re: Amcrest Smart Home "Server" down?
Wow that is a lot of data... Sadly I never did any config backup first time around... 2,287 is a lot of info.. Now I am going to go and find me a IPC-HF3300 but not for 300 or 400 I'm not lol..

Re: Amcrest Smart Home "Server" down?
hmm... it appears p2p is enabled according to the config.backup file but i'm not able to add the ad110 device to the amcrestview account. unless the doorbell user name is 'the long one i see on the config.backup file' as opposed to 'admin.'
Re: Amcrest Smart Home "Server" down?
@amcrest168 - Good to see you are poking around looking to see what might be new. No telling what is actually implemented compared to works in progress or maybe carryover config from some other device that is a placeholder. The ptp.amcrestview.com was showing enabled in the previous firmware as well, but with a different key and UUID.
Hey - I just discovered something great with the new firmware - the standard Amcrest/Dahua SNAPSHOT command WORKS now!
http://userid:password@<ip-addr>/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi
Yay! This was my top enhancement/fix request to Amcrest product support for improved AD110 integration into Home Assistant.
So where are the firmware update RELEASE NOTES that list what was added and what was fixed???

@GaryOkie, the snapshot command works great! in fairness, dahua makes a lot of cool products and the smart home app has some semblance of the full version dahua dmss app hence i'm hoping amcrest shall continue to make incremental improvements and add more functionality to its smart home app because of what we can see in the dahua dmss app.
Re: Amcrest Smart Home "Server" down?
@GaryOkie To be honest i have not seem them released for some time on many if not all the camera FW released since last year anyway... Funny thing is Last week looking at the 866E thinking about adding it to my Fleet I seen there was one list there for a 2020 FW I was like oh lets see what is new No got a Whoops Our bad page no change log lol... So yeah it has been years since anyone has typed one up it seems...
Sure would be nice to see what was different to help make the change worth it or not...

Re: Amcrest Smart Home "Server" down?
Any update on this issue? My Ad110 has been disconnected and unusable since last Friday (6/12) and worked great before that. An update on the issue would be good. I submitted a ticket yesterday to the Amcrest Smart Home team and received an acknowledgment of receipt back. Hopefully they can restore the connection soon. I would hope a back-end server issue would have a better SLA than a week+..
