Failing SD card on inaccessible camera
What are your options when you have an SD card fail on a camera that you cant physically get to? I know when the card fails to show up in the settings, the log shows an endless string of "eject" and the camera constantly reboots, its time to physically replace the card, but can you do anyt...

Incompatible plug-ins between camera models
When using the web user interface, I get the prompt "Please click here to download and install the plug-in" when viewing between older and newer IP8M models (switching between T2499EB and T2599EW, for example) forcing me to re-install plug-ins every time now. While I have had to re-install...

Need a compact turret camera, I would look at the 2779, geat camera for the price.. person detection camera that out shines a camera that cost more only thing the other that I own a few of is better sensor for low light captures. The 2779 uses a white spotlight that I dont want, just IR . I dont un...

Versions of the IP8M-T2599E?
One is metal construction, one is plastic. One allows web-based SD playback using a timeline, one makes you download chunks before you can view. Have I missed a revision or two over the years? I miss the 2499's that you could mount in a corner without a third of the frame seeing the walls on each si...

Re-flash older cameras with original firmware?
I still have several of the older IP8M-T2499E cameras in remote use, and last summer I made the mistake of "upgrading" one of them with the new-improved firmware that did away with the Active-X, and unfortunately, most of its functionality. Is it possible now to downgrade the older cameras...

Re: amcrestddns troubleshooting
My reply from Support was to try something besides amcrestddns... ' I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with your device. As an alternative, I recommend using NO IP DDNS. I’ve attached the link below for your reference. https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/articles/20705648037773-H...

amcrestddns troubleshooting
Hooking up an older IP8M-T2499E and the on-line documentation for the Amcrest DDNS is all over the place -- some dont even mention that the port should be 5 digits...
Can someone steer me to a troubleshooting checklist that has worked for this camera (and the latest firmware)?
Thanks.

also, the audio quality of the 2599 is inferior to the older 2499, AAC only going to 1600 instead of 64000.

I have found that the audio quality of the 2599 is inferior to the older camera, AAC only going to 1600 as opposed to 64000.
The picture seems much grittier than the 2499, as well.
