IP8M-DLB2998EW-AI Setup

I have set-up all previous Amcrest cameras on my iPad by entering the IP address number and port. My recently purchased camera IP8M-DLB2998EW-AI, cannot access all settings this way. Must I use the Amcrest IP config app on my windows pc to do it or is there a way to do it on my iPad?

I set mine up using a browser, like always. Just go to the IP address. That said, the interface is quite different from all my older Amcrest cams. It took me a while to figure out where everything was. I just tried it on my iPad and got in as usual. Which settings are you trying to find?

I appreciate the help. I’ve been able to get the FTP to my website to work but am unable to figure out how to set the motion area and human and vehicle detection only. I also still can’t get the email to accept my password to send me events. I’ve tried a few different emails.

About email something to try. Not sure how it works with AVP2 as I have not looked in a little while but if you still have avp installed might setup your device there if it isn't already and it might give you what is missing..

What I found is that in some cameras or DVR/NVRs there are some !@#$ that don't get inserted even though you key them in. So if you happen to have one of them special that don't like to get setup in the WebUI or GUI I found that I can log in using the app and go to the mail setup look at teh password for the email and correct the missing digit..

Now about SMD not sure why you want to use SMD, However if that is what you want and your camera offers it then you would setup your camera for Motion setting a motion grid, Then go to SMD and enable SMD. There you would pick if you want Vehicle or Human or add them both Then when you save it will record all motion. It isn't until you do a search for the Ai event for SMD. Also in the App you go to SMD and in there you can pick what one you want Human or Vehicle. Where with IVS you setup a tripwire for both it will send you an alert for all tripwires tripped..

Thank you. I want to use FTP to my Website and email. I don't use DVR/NVR. With limited server space I only want to record a human or vehicle. I am unable to set up the motion grid with the firmware. I also can't find the tripwire setup. It's very different from my previous Amcrest cameras.

So it is hard to explain sometimes.. but with the new cameras it is much different then before. You will want to go to smart Plan, Setup setting if you want it to be a full time setup then you can setup Global setup. If you want to use more then 1 option you will have to setup a Schedule. Once you pick your type and save there should be the option enabled now. So if you setup for IVS then your IVS options will be listed like Tripwire and Intrusion and such. Once you setup in that then you will have your Ai features. Where before it was easier to understand and setup all off the menu on the left. Now need a degree to setup the cameras lol..

Agreed. The web UI on the newer cams is horrible. Major step backwards.

I’m sorry for all of the questions. When I select AI and click on smart plan nothing appears. I’ve actually helped others with the previous Amcrest setup. I’m frustrated with this newer setup.

Wait, IF you click Smart plan there is nothing that shows up with out even a + sign? Should be a + Or Add. where you then pick the type? I have only 1 camera with the new sotware look and it is remote to me and don't have access to WebUI for it seeing I turned off internet there seeing I don't go there often and not had any issues for years so I have my neighbor that keeps track of things for me there.. But yeah I am not sure why it had to change so much that makes someone have to re learn how to setup things lol..
