I would think that pretty much any decent performance drive with no SATA issues would record decent video because the write performance demand would not be high on a recorder like this, unless you had a TON of cameras streaming to be recorded. Also wanted to note that the Amcrest tech wanted me to go to the site and do a reset on each camera using the reset hole, which means taking a ladder back to the client's location after hours and doing the resets before testing again.
