Dvr/hard drive questions
Dvr/hard drive questions
Hello new to forums but amcrest user for over 12 years. Not super savvy on the tech side of the dvr. from new iv used a color blue 2t hard drive on 4k cameras. I get 5 days of cloudy pixilated play back upon any zoom. if i change to the purple 4t will it be a clearer play back?
Re: Dvr/hard drive questions
Hard to say that it is a HDD issue. I mean I have in the past used some lower quality WD HDD in my recorders without issue. Never using a 4k camera. What DVR are you using? When was the last fW installed?

Re: Dvr/hard drive questions
I would think that pretty much any decent performance drive with no SATA issues would record decent video because the write performance demand would not be high on a recorder like this, unless you had a TON of cameras streaming to be recorded. My gut tells me that either your recorder is not a 4K capable recorder or your screen setup is not optimal. What model recorder and cameras are you uising? Is your recorder setup wtih an HDMI monitor and hi-res monitor, or a basig monitor on a VGA port? I have several customers with really nice TV's and a long HDMI cable ran to their living room TV and the clarity is crazy good when using 5MP and 8MP cameras and a 4K recorder connected to a really nice TV.
