IP4M-1098EW-AI
The camera has a bracket with a carabiner clip and screw on the installation attachment. There is no explanation how to use them or what they are for.
Re: IP4M-1098EW-AI
Mount the bracket to the mounting surface and then use the Carabiner to connect the camera to the mount so you can connect the cameras wires to the wires for the camera.. While most times it isn't used. When you are lifting up a 20lbs camera on a 30 or 40 foot ladder it isn't easy to hold the camera in place while you make camera wire connections. Plus there are different wires for different cameras and different needs. Some might use them other might only use the Ethernet cable and can just hold camera make connection and stuff back in the bracket..
However in truth the camera in question don't have a mount like the other, the camera is lighter and my guesss is that the Carabiner is in the package as a part of the package meant for other type.. Could be used for mounting on tall areas. Holdling camera to mounting sourface. then unclip and mount once cables are in place.. It isn't needed for the camera to function. Loads of people never use them on the cameras they are needed on..

Re: IP4M-1098EW-AI
Thank you. One more thing, please. The camera sends very tiny jpg (750kb) to my email when motion is detected. I can’t find a way to adjust size/quality like other cameras allow. The saved mp4 files are fine.
Re: IP4M-1098EW-AI
What is the camera setup for? IVS, Face Detection or Motion? I know you said motion but sometimes people say that but is from a different detection format just trying to confirm?

Re: IP4M-1098EW-AI
Log in to the Cameras WebUI, Look at the image page for the camera under snapshot. Then you will want to change the format from Default to Event and make sure that you have the right setting there. I don't know that camera so only info is off other cameras that I own. Some changes made at times are for normal and not changed in Event. Never heard of a IP camera not taking image from main stream. Unless it is off Face Detection and sending images off 1x1 format when enabled..

Re: IP4M-1098EW-AI
Thanks. It's set for human and vehicle detection. (No IVS or Face detection). The detection works but jpgs are too small to be viewed in my email. I have to open them with a viewer app - which is too much trouble.
Re: IP4M-1098EW-AI
As seen in the pictures here from one of my 8mp amcrest cameras.
Humm just as I was posting seen you replied.. So you are using SMD? then?

Re: IP4M-1098EW-AI
I don’t see that option for this camera.

Re: IP4M-1098EW-AI
Yeah with it being newer model and with newer GUI it is hard to tell if that info is left out, in different area or if maybe just need someone to make a ticket with the issue so it can be covered in a new update.. IN your page there shows encoding info and Overlay but nothing about snapshot.. It might be something they moved to Storage or some other area now. One of the reasons I hate the newer GUI hard to find things as loads of thinigs have moved or missing..
