I tried to update the firmware, but it fails to update. Firmware Update > Update > Updating process will take a few minutes, please ensure the device is online during this process > Cancel or OK > OK > instant message, Failed to update. Tried to reboot, never finishes, just an endless spinning blue circle. Any advice appreciated.

Updated Firmware successfully, but in doorbell it is identified as "1.000.00AC004.0.R.200509" (note the missing "V" at the front and missing "20" after "R.") rather than "V1.000.00AC004.0.R.20200509" Thus, each time it reboots from the update the app thinks that there is still a newer firmware update to perform and prompts again. This repeats endlessly.

How did this not get caught in testing??? Your own screen capture above mine shows the same thing - the red dot next to firmware indicates that the app believes there is a newer version still available!!!

@djsteve i would wait until amcrest releases a newer version that is dated after 0509 before updating the firmware again. i'm glad to see at least the night vision, wdr, and motion schedule were addressed in this release albeit the firmware numbering issue.

This will undoubtedly be a huge issue for Amcrest. I didn’t seek out the update. As soon as I opened the app I was encouraged to update via a popup. As noted above, the firmware update actually completes, but because of the versioning conflict it continues to prompt on every use of the app. Since the firmware availability is a cloud-based push, everyone with an AD110 will soon be experiencing the carnival ride.

I am excited to see if this fixes my night vision issues. I will give this a shot and see if disabling night vision helps anything. Previously I had to leave my porch light on to get any usable night time footage or night mode would toggle on and off all night.

I'd leave the lights on for now. I will wait until Amcrest releases an update to the firmware that doesn't have this version/prompt issue. I too can't fathom how this got through QA before release. Yikes - not good Amcrest.

What a joke, been looking forward to this update forever. It still for me has not resolved the device screaming "Successfully Connected To Network" every 15-20 minutes at night. Replaced my doorbell transformer trying to solve this issue too. Now being prompted every time I touch the app to update the firmware is already getting old. The HDR was a nice change as I use it on my other AMCrest Cameras. Really starting to regret this Doorbell purchase. Works great during the day at Night not so much. I did the change from Nighttime from Auto to Off to see if this helps it not disconnect literally every 10-15 minutes at night. The 2.4 WAP is about 30 feet at most from the Camera and the Signal strength is great. I wish there was a way to SCHEDULE the night time mode vs using Auto. As I can see the camera flip off and on night mode and then disconnect over and over at night.

I am not a Fan of the New Update mySelf at this moment... I tried WDR and while I do like that it has it's place... I don't need it lol... I am glad that there is now the ability to change IR on or off however as another has mentioned it would have been better to have a Schedule rather then leaving it to Auto, off or Force On... However having the ability to force it on at 10pm until 6am would be a good thing in my eyes however I still wouldn't use IR at night on the porch it is just asking for more bug issues... Most my cameras I run in Color at night anyway..

Just wondering people with the Update Prompt after updating how many of you have gone out to the doorbell and Reset it back to factory after the Update? Yes I know it is a PITA to have to go do a Factory Reset after updates but it can make loads of issue go away?

i think this firmware release is an improvement but it's an obvious 'work in progress.' i also changed the night vision setting from 'auto' to 'off' and it got disconnected and rebooted. i immediately changed the night vision setting back to 'auto' out of fear i might brick the doorbell. recorded videos can now be downloaded from the sd card but i think that has more to do with the smart home app and not the firmware. the wdr setting is a nice feature but it produces grainier videos maybe a setting of '1' is fine. '3' is visibly grainy.

also noticed a change to the link digital/mechanical chime setting. there is a configurable setting for digital chime in 'seconds.' amcrest still needs to fix the firmware version numbering. there is an option to stop the prompt by checking the 'don't ask me again.'
