1080P camera. Trying to configure remote access. Followed all the steps for UPnP/DDNS Remote Web Access Setup. uPnP page shows at top, 'Router STatus: Mapping Succeeded. Port mapping list for HTTP shows 'Mapping Failed'. Logging into my modem/router, I see under uPnP, the camera and port listed. Going to quickDDNS.com on my account, I see the camera listed. Clicking on the quickDDNS.com link for the camera, the connection times out.
On my first attempts, I couldn't get this to work. Then, w/o changing anything, it started to work. Now it doesn't work again.
uPnP router status mapping succeeded, mapping list failed

Hi checkeraz69,
There are two option for accessing the cam remotely from a computer. One is using the portal http://www.amcrestview.com . There you need to sign up for an account and then add your camera with its serial number and user name and password. This is the easiest way to do this.
The second method is by setting up port forwarding. This will need you to login to your router and do some settings. The below video explains the process.

On mobile phones, you just need to add it with the P2p set up. All you have to do is scan the QR code and input the device username and password. This applies to both the IP cams and HDCVI dvr's. To use the DDNS, you need to first set up port forwarding. Then enable DDNS under Network settings and set up your domain name. Please feel free to contact our technical support if you have more questions.

Re: uPnP router status mapping succeeded, mapping list faile
Sorry, I wasn't totally clear. I'm trying to access the camera settings remotely (specifically enable and disable events). My understanding is that this can only be done through uPnP or port forwarding. But to cut the discussion short, I've had so many connectivity issues (on local network or remote), find the multiple configuration options leave me confused, and find that the instructions tend assume everything goes perfect (as well as be slightly out of sync with the GUIs), that I'm returning the cameras. I'll look for other options.
