How to Zoom ASH47

Post by hawkeye62 »

Well, with the warmer weather here I have finally installed my ASH47 camera. My overall impression is positive, except that I can't find out how to Zoom the view. Pan and tilt work very well, I just want to zoom the view to make some items in the view larger. Also, I have still not been able to activate the ASH in the 4108-HS NVR. I installed a 256GB microsd card in the ASH and it is working well. Thanks for any advice.

The Ash47 isn't a zoom camera it is a pure Pan and Tilt Camera...

If you want a zoom camera that is like the ASH47 then Amcrest did just release a new pair of cameras that have 4x zoom. Can be found here... https://amcrest.com/4mp-poe-camera-ptz- ... ew-ai.html They are also AI so for 100 more then the ASH47 it is a much better camera..

Thanks for your reply. The specs claim 16x zoom, but it is digital zoom and only temporary. I think Amcrest stretched the truth on claiming 16x zoom. What is AI in the list of features on the camera you referenced?

AI in most respect is going to be IVS with Tripwire and Intrusion. This will help keep the false alarms down from bugs, rain, snow and things like that. Some cameras with AI offer Human Detection and or Vehicle. I think that camera I linked to does Human. It does offer Optical Zoom. If you have cameras like 841, 941 or 1051 them cameras while they did have a zoom feature they were not Optical. They were really Digital with software hold. The V3 of them cameras no longer have the eZoom feature and they now work just the same as the ASH47.

Issue with 16x Digital with any camera besides some of the other branded cameras I own, They don't have the zoom hold and to be honest most times anything over 4 times digital just blows out the picture to much so things look very blurry.

With Optical, That will be Lens with Focus and picture is clear even at the Zoomed in point of the picture. Then using software you can digital zoom normally the 16x however even with that best to keep Digital Zoom to about 4x...

AI like trip wire, You would setup the camera in Smart, then IVS to setup a rule, then the rule lets say is a Tripwire, You have your camera on your home 15 feet in your driveway 10 feet up. You could setup a Tripwire to a point where normally cars might turn around at say 4 to 8 feet in your drive, you setup a Tripwire and when someone goes past that it would send an alert to your phone and you know that it is a good alert and not just a leaf, rain, snow or your neighborhood car/dog lol.. Sorry normally my AI camera will do both Vehicle and Human so that is why I picked the Driveway and people turning around. Anyway you don't have to use the Human detect just keep in mind that anything and everything will set off the tripwire.. You can make some size adjustments however I found some times they still will trip a Cat at night even when I have the size larger then the cat. That is why I like the AI camera with Human and Vehicle detection again you know what is being sent is real.

Thanks for the explanation. I worked with the night vision last night. Fantastic!! Everything from full color to BW no IR was perfect. The ASH47 would be perfect for me if it had optical zoom, or even the zoom like my 941's have. Anyway, I have a 941 looking at the same area that I have zoomed which I can use for the detail I want during the day and the ASH47 gives me perfect night vision although with less detail. I have never been able to get acceptable night vision with the 941. The area of interest is my side yard where I have a few bird feeders. The 941 gives me the detail I want for the birds during the day and the ASH47 gives me a view of the occasional fox or coyote that comes by at night.
