changing ssid name

Post by nzvlnr »

Hello ; I changed my wifi network name on the 2.6 mhz. I am of course updating all of my devices and my Amcrest IP4M-1051 will not connect. Here is what I have done so far
1) plugged the camera into my network with an ethernet. Logged into the IP config tool. I then changed the network to the new name. Saved it. pulled the ehternet , refreshed the screen .It stays connected.
2) I then unplug it and put it back where I had it and it will not connect.

I have it here with me now plugged into the hard wire, it is connected . WHat am I missing with the wifi connection change?

You will want to not only change your 2.4 name of you will want to make sure that you go into your Wifi under network and click on the SSID you want to connect to it will pop up a window and ask you for the Password Enter the password and then it will connect to the new WIfi once it is connected to the new Wifi you can then Remove the cable and camera will be running on new SSID

Here is a Video I made for somewhat same issue but a different thread last night it will show the steps

So, I did all this previously: The tcp/ip and then into the WIFI, save it,then go back in and change it to static/wireless, save it, then pull the power on the camera and the ethernet. Same flashing green light, no network connection. I have to plug int the ethernet connection to connect again.

I changed the name of my 2.5 mhz network as I am having issues with connecting a Bowers & Wilkins wireless speaker to the network. The support @ B&W said to do this as it may be causing problems the wireless connection to their speaker. I also changed the bandwidth from 40 mhm to 20hmz

I suggest connecting to the camera web gui to change settings.

Whilst connected by ethernet, did you enable wi-fi, then connect the camera to the wi-fi network SSID, enter user/password and click "SAVE". Once you get a message to say the camera has connected to the SSID succesfully you should then be able to set wi-fi as the default connection and remove the ethernet cable.

My best guess to that situation is that you might not have clicked save. After saving you should get a "Save succeeded" message. Do it several times and make sure you see that succeeded message each time, it won't do any harm :)

The camera connects to the wireless. I can then unplug the ethernet and it stays connected. As soon as it loses power it will not reestablish a connection. I have to plug the ethernet back in to connect to it.
After power loss I have a flashing green light

Even if I just hit refresh under the network + TCP/IP tab ( with the ethernet unplugged) the connection is lost!
