Amcrest cloud setup

Post by arnold »

Trying to add IP2M-841 camera to Amcrest cloud. Says, "The camera you are trying to add/modify does not appear to be connected. Please reboot (power off/on) the camera and try again." The camera is connected and I have viewed it remotely as well as from home. I copied the serial number and pasted it into the setup screen.

Hello,

Make sure the camera is connected and working on your phone/computer. When you receive the error message you mentioned, disconnect the camera from power and leave it powered off for about 3 minutes. Connect the camera back to power and try again in 1 to 2 minutes and it should work just fine.

Hello,

I followed the instruction and above mentioned steps, but still can't connect the camera to the cloud. Still get that "The camera you are trying to add/modify does not appear to be connected. Please reboot (power off/on) the camera and try again." error message.

I disconnected power, waited 3 minutes, reconnect the power. I'm using the iPhone app now and the live view is good. Just can't add it to the cloud.

Is there any firewall setting I need to set for this camera? It's connected to the internet via wifi from my wireless router.

Really like this camera. Give it a last try before sending back to Amazon.

Hello,
Please hard reset the camera (press and hold the indicator light on the back of the camera for 10 seconds), then add it to the cloud as the first thing you do if possible (you will need to connect camera by Ethernet cord to your router). Once that works, you can set up the camera using the regular Wifi setup method on Amcrest view app

"The camera you are trying to add/modify is not connected to the cloud. Please reboot (power off/on) the camera to reconnect it to the cloud. For your privacy and security the camera must be added to your account within two hours of rebooting the camera."

I am experiencing this same issue. I have tried everything. Even sent a email message to Amcrest. No response yet and its been a week. No happy because I have the service and I'm still being charged for two cameras. Not sure why I cannot add my camera back onto the cloud. Turned them on and off. Unplug them. Hard reset them. Updated them. I did everything. I don't what else to do. Is Amcrest out there to help. Next and last step is I have to call them when they are open and I have time. This sucks :(

I have set up my camera to work wirelessly. Now to add to the Amcrest cloud I have to remove it from its location and bring it to the router to connect via cable. Shouldn't one be able to connect to the cloud wirelessly?

Hello GreatUSAman ,

Yes you should be able to add the camera to Amcrest Cloud wirelessly. You will have to be at the location as you will need to power recycle the camera during the process of adding.
