Aecrest View Pro app stopped working after update today.

Yes, same issue as described above with iPhone 6s and newly updated app. Can you please put the old version back on the Apple App store for downloading while you trouble shoot the new, broken version? BTW - do you beta test the updates in house before releasing to the public??????

I am having the same issues as everyone else. I reinstalled the amcrest view lite app that I wasn't using and it will let me see my cameras on my iPhone 6. This worked for me while the pro app is hopefully being fixed.

I happen to be an app developer. I can tell you that it's not as easy as just putting an old version of the app on the app store. Once a new version goes up, the old version become unavailable. If you delete the current version, the app is completely removed from the store (it does not drop back to the old version). To get an old version back, you must build the old code set as a new version and then upload that. Of course, then you have to go through the approval process again.

Also as much as I beta test my apps, problems do still squeak through on occasion. I can't own every single device to test on, but I test using the simulator. Sometimes a development build on a simulator will work, but on a real life device, the build crashes or something won't work. I also test using real world beta testers. But they don't always find errors either. Most public beta testers are in it to get the new versions/features sooner than other people, not to actually help you find errors.

I'm not saying this shouldn't be treated with urgency, but it's not as easy as it may seem to just revert back (unfortunately).

I'm not happy about it, but I'm happy with the responses I get from Melvin and the speed in which he answers. As long as that continues, I give them kudos for being on it. Some companies would just leave you hanging. So credit where credit is due.

Same issue with both my phone (Iphone5S) and my wife's phone (IphoneSE).
we tried reinstalling the apps and still does not work.

Great idea on using the Lite app. Sadly it is no longer available (for iPhone) in the App Store. I just started up my cameras a week ago so only loaded the Pro app.

Hopefully the revised/working Pro app will be up soon......

Hi everyone,

We'd like to notify everyone of an issue that is occurring with our latest iPhone update as of July 6th. The Amcrest View Pro app is facing some connectivity issues, specifically for iOS. You may have ran into this issue if you tried to set up a new camera out of the box, or if you had existing cameras that are not loading after the latest update that continually state the camera "Failed to Connect".

We have identified and fixed the issue as of today, July 7th. This update is currently processing and under review to be published to the App store, it should be released as soon as possible which will fix connectivity issues for users who are utilizing the app on iOS devices.

Users have also reported that there is a workaround to this issue as well. Once setting up the camera initially and getting a "Failed to Connect" error message, disconnect the Wi-Fi from your phone, then attempt to access the camera again using either 3G / 4G / LTE as provided by your service provider. This has reportedly worked for some users.

That did the trick for me. I am now able to see all my cams. Thanks! Look forward to the update. Thanks for the fast turn around. Super impressed with the support thus far.
