Web access of NVR NV4116E-A2

Post by Volkemon »

Getting used to my NV4116E-A2. Have an assortment of 10 Amcrest/Reolink cameras going on it now. Lots of learning!

On my local network, I can access the NVR using the 192.168.1.250. This allows me to 'work' on things in comfort instead of standing in a small data room upstairs. :ugeek:

When working on the NVR directly, upstairs in the tiny room, I can get a 1,4,8,9 or 16 channel 'view' on the monitor.

Using the Amcrest View Pro2 app to access the NVR via P2P on an Android, or iPhone, I can select 1,4,9 or 16 channel view. Using the Phone data access, not the local wireless network.

VERY happy so far.

:D

However.... trying to work and access the NVR from comfort....

When I access the NVR via the browser window, I am only able to view one or four channels. I have not found a way to increase that.

This is the screenshot, red arrow shows button press. Circle shows option.

You will want to access your NVR using Edge in IE mode.. As you can see from this picture I can access many different options that is not on the Chrome or Edge Normal access..

AH! Yes. I had read of 'advisements' towards using Edge/IE. Did not realize they were more mandatory!

I have not used IE/Edge ever. I did try, but for *unknown reasons* every time I try to start Edge, I get this error:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

So its on my end.

I imagine the problem with not being able to use port 10080 is also not an issue in Edge/IE?

Correct. 10080 works in ie of edge. Not in edge normal. When I get to my computer I will reply a way to bring ie to your desktop. Win 10 and 11 ie is still there just hidden

My current working laptop has Win10, and Edge is installed.

However, it has the issue on startup I discussed earlier. I have since tried to repair it, and get an 'error 514' trying to do that. :? Unable to uninstall/reinstall. Time to explore other options.

Logged onto my old Blue Iris box, Win7, i5 processor, 6Gb RAM ...Still on IE!

NOW I get all 16 windows. THANK YOU for the advice. I now have a 'new' workstation for the NVR, and BI is there already.

Another bonus is that it already is on a 46" tv as a monitor, and I can leave the monitor picture up for my wife. She really likes to be able to see outside at a glance.

Which of course leads to another question...

I am using the '8' panel display, with one large. I learned how to drag the pictures to re-arrange whih angle is in the 'big' box. Yaay!
Now... I can set it to show 1-8. or 3-10. even 7-10 with 4 black squares.

Is it possible to select just 8 of ten non sequential? I wish NOT to have #5 and #10 on the 8 panel display. Tried right clicking, will resort to RTFM tonight if I must. ;) THANK YOU again for all the help.

From GUI right click and then Sequence, Setup how you want your channels to display on your NVR. Then in 8 1 will be the big. If you drag another box to 1 that will now be in ch1 from now on. So have to keep that in mind..

So for some setup cameras then setup how they are displayed. Issue is that when you are in your app or trying to find a playback you try to play back a camera that starts playing another one that is really in that spot.. So best to setup the display the way you really want it. Take a picture and then Reset the NVR back to factory and setup with cameras in right Port if they are connected POE and or in the right channel for 9-16.. Then every thing is seamless.. I still drag boxes to 1 if in 8ch mode but always put back to where they belong before changing out of the camera view.. Can be hard at times with my 32ch NVR remembering where all the cameras were placed lol But in my 16ch much easier normally..

Now from WebUI. yes you can view how you want on the left where the fast view is. Click on far left and pick 3 and then the second box pick the layout you want. then press fast live it will load that starting at 3.. If you wanted to look with 4 square and want to view 7-10 again pick the 7 in far left then press the fast live seeing the default is 4 square setup. If you had already changed then change the view type you want before pressing the fast live.. Also in live view lets say you are looking at 7-10 but get a notice on ch 4 you can click on far left again and pick D4 and it will load the live view from 4. Don't have to stop live view before picking a new starting #

Think I got that. Just want one step further...

IF I have 16 cameras, 8 camera view selected.

I can currently see any CONTINIOUS group of 8 cams - 1-8, 7-14, or even 14-16 with 5 blank spots. All by selecting D1, D7 or D14 as my start.

Can even change the start camera 'on the fly'.

But say I want to have these 8 up - D1, D2, D5, D7, D12, D13 and D16. Is there a way to select a NON CONTINIOUS group of 8?

Maybe that says the question better. Thanks!!

No sorry in WebUi I don't see anyway to do that in mine anyway.. I did look in GUI of another one of my NVRs and I am able to access a custom layout in GUI that will load everytime in a way I want it to where I plant the camera number it will load there every time I click the custom view. Setup a 10 grid lay out with 2 larger boxes and 8 smaller one, Then setup the cameras in the boxes as I want them placed and it loads that way every time I click that lay out again this in the GUI of the NVR.. I will have to test my A2 when I get access to my Security room seeing I don't have it connected with HDMI right now only access app and WebUi.. I will gain access and test that out as well. Maybe it is different or has better options. It is a lower model then the ones I tested GUI on this time but things can be different even better some times.. Let you know what I find. Sorry I wasn't very helpful.

THANKS again!
The forum keeps restricting my IP so I often cannot reply quickly. NO idea why... 5 min ago it told me my IP was on restriction. Now it works.

This forum is a necessary item ! :) You are the lifeline for this product as far as I am concerned.
