I bought a house with a Amcrest camera system in place, but he didn't leave the password for the NVR.
It doesn't have a reset button, and apparently you can't use the UI to reset it without the password. Is it a brick? Is there a path forward for me?
NV4108E-HS needs hard reset without password
Re: NV4108E-HS needs hard reset without password
Hello and Welcome to the Forum..
So there are a few things that can be done.. First if there was a pattern you can guess what it might be. After you get locked out just turn off and wait 10 seconds and turn back on and try again. Next if seeing the people used to live there. If they have questions setup in the NVR as a part of the Forgot password option there is 3 questions. If they were not very smart they might have used info around your house, or house number and or some other things that you might be able to figure out being in the house. Also could try same answer for all 3 questions and aaa bbb ccc or AAA BBB CCC kind of thing.. If not able to do any of that.. Could make a Ticket with Amcrest Support and with the ticket provide them a picture of the bottom of the NVR along with the TIME that is showing in the NVR this means date and time. Then they might be able to give you an Unlock code that will let you get into the NVR using that code that is only good for 24 hours you will want to make sure you reset the password before the time runs out..
Not sure if they will be in Office Monday or if this week starts Tues.. Either way after you send request for ticket give them some time to respond. No telling how many tickets they might have from the weekend..
