Do I need light on when Smart Illumination is enabled?

Post by YodaVader »

#1 This gaggle of software is confusing a fork! FFS why can't one GUI control everything?

Anyways, I'm into the camera setting now by directly accessing the camera's ip (more on that one in another post).

My IP5M-T1277E-AI Cameras advertise "Color Night Vision". Which is to say they have a bright LED light that can light up the area so it can record in normal mode instead of night vision mode at night.

Anyways ..... I'm trying to get this working so when recording is triggered by the IVS settings at night, the light comes on too. Instead of forking flashing, like WTF use is that?

My question is, do I need the "light" checkbox checked in the IVS settings in the NVR web UI when I have "Smart Illumintaion" selected in the Cameras WebUI?

Note: I also have setup a schedule for day and night modes in the Camera WebUI.

I have 2 PC monitors so I was able to capture both WebUI's at once.

So it is really hard to say how 1 camera works over another.. I mean I have some cameras that is White Flash on Motion and there is an option where I can also choose to have white light always on *meaning not flashing on motion* this will make my IR at night go to color. it isn't instant like I have for some other cameras that are for my DVR that is also setup for Flashing or White Led always on and when that switches over there is no delay in the color to B/W and B/W back. Like the way my Amcrest Motion Light works kind of slower then I like where it changes it to LEDS on and a few seconds later it switches to color, Then when it goes back to IR the camera area goes black because there is no lights in that area until a few seconds pass and the camera changes back..

So if your camera offers a White always on option because it is a Color at night camera normally then it most likely would only offer flash as an option, I don't know your camera so I would say look in the Cameras IVS rules area for setting up. There should be something there that might say there is an option like if you look at my picture of my cameras from Amcrest.. The IP8M-TD2685EW-AI.

Edit: Oh yeah sorry to see that picture full screen just right click and choose open in a new tab it will show it in full size seeing there is no zoom option in the forum or full size adding of pictures..
