Using Amcrest View Pro2 Remotely

I have (2) IP cameras- IP3M-HX2W and IP2M-841. I can view the areas each camera covers with Amcrest View Pro2 when the cameras and my phone are connected to the same WiFi. Now I also want to be able to use Amcrest View Pro2 remotely for both cameras so I did the following:

IP3M-HX2W
1. In Network | Connections, I changed the HTTP port from 80 to 37779.
2. I created a port forwarding rule and pointed an external port to the camera's HTTP port 37779. A port checker confirmed the port is open and available.
3. I can now access this camera's administration screen remotely.
4. I can also use Amcrest View Pro2 for this camera when my phone is connected to WiFi or an external network. After doing the first 3 steps, I did not have to do anything special/ different to Amcrest View Pro2 to use it remotely for this camera. It just worked.

IP2M-841
1. In order to have remote access for this camera also, I repeated the steps I used for IP3M-HX2W, of course using a different external port.
2. I can access this camera's administration screen remotely or when on WiFi but I CANNOT use Amcrest View Pro2 remotely for this camera. When I select the camera/tap on it in Amcrest View Pro2, I get message "Connection failed.-IPC".
3. I deleted the camera and added it again to Amcrest View Pro2 multiple times, same problem.

Question: Since I did not have to do anything special to Amcrest View Pro2 to be able to use the IP3M-HX2W remotely, I don't know what I need to do to be able to use Amcrest View Pro2 remotely for IP2M-841. Any assistance for resolving this issue is appreciated.

Note: I have a 3rd camera and I am having the same problem for using Amcrest View Pro2 remotely as camera IP2M-841.

The easiest way is to enable P2P, but I guess you do not want to do that.

Beware that allowing camera traffic on public internet means people can (and will) hack your devices, furthermore any intercepting host between you and your camera will detect the video stream and save it.

There is likely something weird going on with that camera firmware or the app itself. It is unlikely you will solve this; your best bet to understand the problem is to get tcpdump or wireshark on a host where you can see all the traffic. For example you could start the app on an Android emulator on a PC, and use Wireshark there. Then compare the traffic of the working camera with the traffic of the non-working camera, on LAN.
