I started by reading this thread. However, as with many things IPC-related, I am still unsure. I am using two IP5M-B1276EW-AI cameras and one IP5M-T1277EW-AI. My footage is saved to a server and snapshots and video (if the server connection fails) to SD cards. My goal is to simply record everything 24/7, letting the old footage be overwritten when space runs out, but have events tagged so I can find them. After reading the thread above and some Google junk, I have the following settings on all three cameras. Have I understood correctly, or do I need to adjust my settings?
Well not sure you want email enabled for motion, I mean in my are I would get bugs and rain and snow, shadows all kinds of junk unless it's in a dark room.. in camera with ability could work if it offers smart search? If not need an NVR that offers smart search.
I had just turned on email because I had been unable to get it working for over a year. I turned it off soon after making this post for just the reason you mentioned
As for the recording settings, does that look appropriate for what I am hoping to accomplish?
I put high-quality SD cards in them, but only 256GB each. My server has 2TB for each camera, and I save the H265 1080p stream. None of it is life and death, but it does give me a little peace of mind. I am very grateful to you for helping me out!
