Hello,
I am trying to get remote access working on the Amcrest HDCVI 720p 4 channel DVR system. However, whenever I click on Main Menu - Network Settings - UPNP it says "Searching".
Please help, how do I get remote access to view the DVR from a web-browser?

Having the same exact problem. DHCP Server is enabled as well.

Archer, Wolfmoon,
After DHCP is enabled and you have confirmed your DVR is on the network and talking to your router, go ahead and change back to Static. This should allow P2P Smartphone QR code access as well as UPNP to work. For further clarification on getting Remote Access working watch the step-by-step video guides below.
Initial Setup/Local Access (on your home computer): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dfLTiI_9uc
Remote Access via Smartphone/Tablet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtjvuDXqlJg
Remote Access via Web Browser Using UPnP (This is the simplest "plug-and-play" method for web browsers): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y61IIya6QWo
Remote Access via Web Browser Using Port Forwarding (Only use this method if UPnP does not work.):

Yes, that is how I got as far as I did with those videos...still stuck on "searching"
Re: Remote Access on the HDCVI 720p DVR
Called your support line yesterday as you suggested and spoke with someone who could not figure out the problem after trying different settings and trouble shooting. Then I was transferred to a second man who also could not figure out the problem either; so took my number, and told me he would call me back today with a solution and no one ever called. When I tried calling back again today I spoke with a heavily accented indian man who said there is "no call back listed" for me. I told him I will call again tomorrow because I could barely understand what he was saying and I did not feel like doing everything I went over yesterday already.

Hello,
For UPnP to function correctly the router has to support UPnP and it must be enabled. As each router is different it hard to give one definite instruction on how to do this. If you are unsure of if your router supports this or how to enabled it, please tell me your router model and I will do some research to let you know what I find.

You must port-forward port 37776 in your router. Each one's different in how it's done.

I realize I'm replying to an old post, I just cannot find a straight answer. I have an apple AirPort Extreme. Cameras work great on laptop; however, the P2P does not work on the app through iPhone 6. I too am only getting the "searching." Has anyone discovered a solution? Thanks for your time

I also am having this exact issue. I have an email in to Tech Support (request #36932). I tried accessing all of the training videos listed in this thread, but all of them have returned, "video is unavailable". Have they been removed? Are there new links? I need this Remote Access and Local Access issue resolved for a client and the steps in the Manual are not fixing the problem. I hope someone in Tech Support is monitoring this forum.
Thanks,
Clinton
