Sorry, this is a little long, but maybe it will be useful for others having a similar/same issue, and the discussion may help.
I have a IP2M-841 with the latest firmware installed. I keep having an issue where the camera will just hang and I can no longer view the stream. (I have owned the camera for about a month, and have had 5 of these crashes.) The camera is still pingable on the network, but I cannot access the Web UI, and my Blue Iris system is not able to obtain any stream as well. I also tried from my android app IP Cam Viewer, but no luck. The only fix seems to be unplugging the power and letting it reboot, which isn't really a great solution, and shouldn't be something we have to do.
I can't tell if the freeze/hang is occurring because I am checking the secondary stream via my android app, blue iris (running 24/7) is handling the primary stream or if it is something else. Is the camera limited in its ability to let 2 streams be viewed at the same time?
As a side note, because of these concerns I setup the "maintain" feature on the camera to reboot daily, but even that doesn't seem to be working in this situation. The camera stopped working yesterday, and I decided to see if the next scheduled reboot would fix the problem, but from what I can tell, it never rebooted per the schedule. I have it set to reboot daily, since I can't really trust this camera yet, and the inability for it too reboot properly isn't helping my confidence in the camera. It almost seems as if the software running on the camera dies, but part of the networking is still functional.
As this is a Dahua camera, at least from a firmware perspective, I attempted to access it through the Dahua IP Config tool (since I have various Dahua cameras.) The tool can see the camera, but I am unable to reboot it via the tool.
For fun I did a nmap scan on the camera while it is in he freeze/hang state, and this is the output:
PORT STATE SERVICE
23/tcp open telnet (tried to make a connection, but it just closes out)
80/tcp open http
554/tcp open rtsp
5000/tcp open upnp
49152/tcp open unknown (not sure what this port is being used for, it does accept a connection, but can't do anything. possibly the P2P implementation even though I disabled it in the firmware)
MAC Address: 3C:EF:8C:xx:xx:xx (Zhejiang Dahua Technology)
In Blue Iris, I am using the following settings:
For model, I am using the included Amcrest seting, selecting the 1080P RTSP/HTTP option
path: /cam/realmonitor
params: channel={CAMNO}&subtype=0&authbasic={AUTH64}
In IP Cam Viewer (Android app)
For model I am using the included Amcrest make and the available IP2m-841 model. I am using stream 1, the lower res version. (The app does not provide me any other options.,
I have a ton of foscam cameras, and only 1 has a similar hang/freeze problem that I had to put it on a zwave power controller so I can power off/power on remotely. I would hate to have to do that here as well.
Any idea / thoughts?
My IP2M-841 will randomly Hang/Freeze
Re: My IP2M-841 will randomly Hang/Freeze
I have the same issue same model. Camera stops sending live video, goes pink and loops the last two seconds of video it took before ceasing to record motion alerts to SD card (which is only half full). It remembers all settings except the daily auto-reboot. Reboot is checked off until the camera freezes, then it's gone. During this pink-screen issue, I can still login to camera on my notebook computer and manually reboot it (after yet again checking auto reboot then saving). Then it's fine until it freezes again, losing the reboot settings.
Re: My IP2M-841 will randomly Hang/Freeze
Hello chrisflow ,
This issue appears very strange. The auto reboot settings not staying after reboot is an issue we are working on.
Please try hard resetting the camera. For this, you need to press and hold the indicator light on the back of the camera for 10 - 15 seconds. The light will turn red and the camera will do its initial pan/tilt after this. You need to set up the camera once again after this as it will reset all the settings

Re: My IP2M-841 will randomly Hang/Freeze
I'm having similar issues. Just bought this model from Amazon. Using it thru Ethernet with original cable. It worked fine for about a day. I hooked it up to Synology NAS for recording and it worked fine for a day then it started to hang. It wasn't pingable. Only way to fix was to unplug and plug the power from the Camera. It hung within the hour every time. Decided to not link it to Synology. It went a few hours but still hung a few more times. I did a hard reset and used all the defaults but it still hangs. After the hard reset, even using the website to configure, it hung once during configuration.
I also get the issue with the scheduled reboot disappearing.
Using the latest firmware from sep 2016.
I have a few other cameras on the network including Foscam's and no issues. I will give a few more days, but will return it. I don't expect I will get Amcrest again as this was my first time trying this brand.

Re: My IP2M-841 will randomly Hang/Freeze
Hello Lattai,
Sorry to hear about the issue. You mentioned you have the camera hard wired to the router. Can you please connect the camera on wifi if possible and see if it works better. It could also be a bad unit perhaps. You can contact us for a warranty replacement.

Re: My IP2M-841 will randomly Hang/Freeze
I'm having this problem with my IP2M-842E also. Same description - camera works fine for a while, usually anywhere from 8-12 hours, and then it drops connection to my Synology NAS and doesn't respond on the web interface or anything. Pings to the camera's IP address still show it to be up and connected to the network, but no other connectivity is possible. This is a brand new camera bought from Amazon two weeks ago, and was recently updated to the latest firmware released on 8/15/16. I did not have the camera in service before upgrading to the latest firmware, so I cannot comment as to whether the update caused the issue
Any ideas?

Re: My IP2M-841 will randomly Hang/Freeze
I have a IPM-HX1B that is doing the exact same thing. A reset has not helped. Is there any solution to this issue? Note that is is not a faulty camera, as I had another one that was doing the same thing. So, I returned it thinking it was a bad one, but it is very unlikely that two are faulty. This camera is within 10 ft of the router as well, and changing the router brand/model has not helped either. Besides, this does not seem to be a networking issue as one can ping and login to the camera just fine. Just the video is frozen.
