Lastest fw of IP2M-841B and IP3M-941B sound problems with NVR4116-HS

I've update my IP2M-841B

(which figure in page as 3/30/20 and file is Amcrest_IPC-AWXX_Eng_N_AMCREST_V2.420.AC00.18.R.20200330.bin)

and IP3M-941B

to latest available fw (both cams are EOL)

Since this upgrade camera has not anymore valid sound recording.
I'm using a NVR NV4116-HS

I see this NVR has FW V4.000.AC000 Build Date 5/21/20

Before Upgrading NVR I want to see if this is a known problem.

Trying to play exported records with vlc or xine tells me undefined audio codec but the old videos are playing sound.
I'm using Codec AAC/16000 so I can show it on linux (because G.711X did never work)

What is the problem?
Do I have to downgrade fw? I like the new version because you can see the live video with firefox and chrome and you don't need the plugin
which is not even anymore available for new windows versions.
Or Is the problem really old fw of NVR?

Can I downgrade without any problems cam fw and NVR fw?

As posted in 2019 once you upgrade to the 2019 or 2020 Firmware for any of the older cameras there is no going back.

So what I think the issue is. The Camera seeing the old firmware is different format then the new firmware the cameras need to be Reset back to factory and then the new Firmware will take place of any of the old code that the cameras are trying to run with.

Case in point, While upgrading an older 841 to newer 2019 fw I noticed the Audio no longer would work. I tried to reboot and at first thought that maybe the camera didn't get all the way upgraded. I then did a Factory Reset and setup the camera again this time the camera audio was working again.

So my guess this is going to be the same issue with your cameras. I know that you said your 941 was updated with same file not sure if it has the same issue then my guess is that it was an older FW of different format as well and needs to be reset to factory..

Note, Setting to factory will clear out any of the old code and make sure the new Firmware *code* has the ability to work as expected.

So if I understood right, you did have also no sound after fw upgrade and after a factory reset you had sound?
What audio codec are you using and which DVR?
Is this with the DVR or directly at the camera.
I never did check directly at the cam....

So there is no way to go back. Bad notice.
I've done as read in the update info and reset already the cams (hw reset) and reconfigured.
Last try, in this case will be to updated fw of DVR.
I can't believe that Amrcest puts the last fw which audio is not working

Ok just entred directly to cam with chrome and with that I've audio.
I didn't notice the that default is audio off (I use normally firefox for go directly to camera)
Will do DVR upgrade and post if it works.

Ok new DVR Firmware will record audio right.
Now you can export as mp4 which was no option before.
