IP8M-VD2893EW date and time issue

Post by GaryPSU »

Whenever the camera is powered down the date and time sync with phone is lost. It reverts to 01-01 etc.

There is a battery that is very small inside the camera soldered onto the PCB. That is dead and will need to be repaired/replaced or setup the camera to sync with the NTP server to make sure after reboot the camera is on the right time.

Now to say that my 2685EW-AI camera has done the same thing ever since that camera was new. I guess the battery in that camera was dead at factory. After the nightly reboot it takes less then 2 minutes before the time is correct again.. Don't even know it happens unless you are watching the camera come back online..
Be Safe.

Thank you. My 2893EW does not correct itself. I have to go to the configuration center of the ViewPro app and re-sync the camera with the iPhone.

Ok, Then sounds like the camera don't have access to the NTP server or have internet access. Then in that case yes update with PC or phone from logging in would be only way to keep it correct unless the cameras battery was replaced. They are very small and soldered onto the PCB surface mount less then 1/4 of an inch.
Be Safe.
