IP4M-1041B - Connected to LAN and WiFi but not pingable

Post by pburgh19 »

I have a IP4M-1041B that is giving me issues. I have it connected to my LAN and WiFi and I can see the IPs in the admin UI. I can ping the LAN address but not the WiFi address. Do I have to unplug the LAN in order to activate the WiFi?

I'm also having an issue where if I try to set WiFi as the default, the camera locks up and I have to do a full reset.

I am not sure but I know there is a camera that will work one and not the other, It has to be setup Wifi if wifi is going to be used? I know that is how the ASH21 works or at least it did for some time with many of the Firmware that was out there. My guess is it is still that way.. I know that even if you were able to ping both IP addresses it would only be going though the Lan Port.. Again your camera I don't own because of some of the issues it has had with Wifi.

Personally not sure why you are trying to access both. If you want to setup and use Wifi then just setup for Wifi.. Would work best this way.. Some of the cameras on older FW anyway someone could setup lan, and Wifi and use Lan as a fallback if setup the Wifi as default only issue was it really was using Ethernet connection so it was false feeling of security either way..
Be Safe.

Thanks. I'm not trying to access it over both for more than just this stage of the setup. I'm not on-site (working through a non-technical person on-site) and I want to be sure it's reachable on WiFi before I ask them to remove the LAN.
