I have several Amcrest cameras but am having trouble with the WIFI on the IP4M-1026. I can connect with CAT5 and set up the WIFI and it connects to my WIFI network with the CAT5 still connected. I reserved an address in my router 192.168.1.85 and the WIFI connection uses that IP address. I also set up a forwarding port on my router, 1085, and set that to the Web Port in the camera setup. If I disconnect the CAT5, without turning off the camera, the WIFI connection works fine. If I disconnect power to the camera and then let it boot back up it never connects to the WIF. I did select WIFI as the default mode. If I plug the CAT5 cable back in then I can connect to the camera again using the WIFI address of 192.168.1.85:1085.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Tom

Re: IP4M-1026 WIFI Connection Isues
Hello nineback,
Just to confirm your camera is IP4M-1026W not IP4M-1026E which is the POE version , correct? Make sure the antenna is properly connected on the back of the camera.
Also try setting up a different IP address for the wireless connection and see if it works. Sometimes in the router settings changing the wireless channel will help (channel 11 preferably )

Re: IP4M-1026 WIFI Connection Isues
I just bought another of these cameras and I've had to do this on every wifi Amcrest I have purchased.
I set the camera up as wired wifi. After you get it connected on your network go to your computer and open the browser. Look on you router and find the ip address of the camera. Type in the ip address of the camera and login. Click on the setup button in the top right corner and then go down to network. The click on tcpip and change the default connection type to wifi. It should now connect wifi first.
I hope this helps.

Re: IP4M-1026 WIFI Connection Isues
I was having the same connectivity issues with these cameras. I noticed the antenna and antenna port on the camera both have a center pin. When screwed in, the pins cannot occupy the same space, so they bend, causing a poor connection.
Re: IP4M-1026 WIFI Connection Isues
Don't have that camera but this is from an 858 PTZ camera and the antenna that I use with it.. Should be like what yours or others have. There should be a Pin on the camera side and a hole in the antenna and if there is 2 pins then it isn't the correct one for the device,
Be Safe.
