IP3-956E Camera Re-Wire to Keystone Jack

Post by Lanops »

SO here is an issue i ran into from a customers camera. The weather seal failed and allowed moisture into the connection. The connection rusted out so bad i had to cut it off. Now i have a brick camera. What I'm looking for is some help on how to wire up a keystone jack to the camera so it can be used again using POE. Otherwise i have a $120 brick to use as a paper weight. I have included the photos of what I'm looking for help on. Is there anyone out there that can give me assistance? I have looked all over but can't find anything on how to do this properly.
I have contacted amcrest on this but as usual we never get any support or help on this. You would think that they would give you help on this knowing that some of their equipment malfunctioned due to their manufacturing flaws.

You kind of blew it when you pulled it apart. You should have cut the end off so you could match the wires. Short of Amcrest giving you the color codes, it's probably trash.

I had the other end. But to find out the pilot, I had to try and disect it. It was molded silicon. And it turned out terrible. I'm no surgeon lol. It was totally broke before I could get to the end. Rusted out and all due to the water corrosion.

Excellent! This pin out worked! Thank you very much for your help t84a! NO THANKS TO AMCREST! Ya'll are almost worthless when it comes to supporting your products and customers. SO sad we have to rely on other customers for support.

i know nobody who works at amcrest gives a crap about this forum, but hoped
someone who's seen such a ridiculous wiring scheme can decipher what to use
because t84a's pinning (thanks man) does not seem to work for my new cam.

I know no one who works at amcrest gives a poop about this gathering, yet trusted

somebody who's seen such an absurd wiring plan can interpret what to utilize

since t84a's sticking (thanks man) does not appear to work for my new cam.

i'm not sure why you bothered posting, but whatever.
i already returned my amcrest and got a hikvision
after using both companies products i concluded
unless you have an nvr or run blue iris on a pc,
amcrest lacks it's own internal ivs to be useful.

Curious to why you would want to run video over the orange pair and not the green pair.

Green has more twist rate and is better isolation.

@c0d3x5

Hello and Welcome to the Forum...

I am not the person that built it and I guess if I was and looking at the Cabling that was in the Photo I am going to guess because Audio is needing a Cleaner pair then Video. Same is is going to be needed for Power is my Guess. Power going over a Lower Twisted pair is going to offer more noise into the line and reduce the distance the power can run... If we think about it.. Most cases these wires are only 24ga...

So while Green and Blue are the best in twisted pairs... Then that leaves Orange and Brown as listed from best to worse... Video loss I am going to guess is better then Audio and power over distance.
Be Safe.
