Error accessing SD card recordings after firmware update (IPM-721B and IP2M-841B)

After updating the firmware on both cameras, I can no longer properly access the saved recordings on the SD card. With Amcrest-Web-View it used to work fine, now the recordings are partly skipped or only partly displayed. Sometimes it works for individual recordings, then again not.

I then installed the Previous update available on the Amcrest site, unfortunately without success.

Also with Amcrest Surveillance Pro the display does not work, but did not work properly before the update. That's why I had actually installed the update.

Sorry not having that issue with 721 or 841's I own. Sounds like bad msd or and this could be an issue if connection to internet is not fast enough or not one at all 2019 and newer fw could have issues with playback

It can't be my internet connection, I have a fast fiber connection.
I would like to downgrade back to the old firmware.

Yeah old FW is before 2019 and there is no going back. It has been stated when they Released the FW starting in 2019 there is no way to go back to older FW. Some people that have tried before a Block was put in Bricked the Devices. There have been a few that was able to go back without an issue however from the sounds of it even if you were to find that magic FW level that did have the way back it might not be a good idea without having the device on your desk connected to both good power source and ethernet cable. While I am going to be called a liar I don't know what that magic package is because I have a few that I have tried every one of my older FW for my 841's to go back to the 2017 FW and not one of them will let me all Fail.. To be honest I am not sure because I did take a couple back last year. I have all the same FW now that I had then and I tried to take a different back that I wanted to try and it has failed. So I tried again with all older FW and they failed. So maybe there is a Magic Day it is crazy that it is doing this because I moved one of them back to the newer FW that I had already took back to the 2017 FW and now it is stuck on the newer. I have tried all of the newer also thinking maybe the one in 2019 12, or the one in 2020 and so on. Even taking them from older 2019 to the newest back to the oldest trying with and without a Reset back to factory and I can't find the magic Key..

SD card playback with new firmware and Web UI does not work well with many Amcrest cameras.
But it should work with Amcrest Surveillance Pro(ASP). You say it never worked to display anything.  So you may need to work on ASP.  Something to try:

Uninstall ASP and reinstall it.  Make sure you are using the ASP located at
https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/ar ... llance-Pro

Or maybe you are just having problems with ASP settings.

You can also use Amcrest View Pro to playback your camera SD card files.

Another option is to use Edge in IE mode. You can do this by entering your cameras ip address and everytime you enter that address it will open the camera in IE mode. However with that said there are some versions of 841 that will not work in IE and I think the 721 also no longer working in IE however that might only be mine because my 721 is a E and didn't get a new update after the first one in 2019..

However as Jack7 said ASP does playback my cameras Micro SD just make sure your on device and not local as some might not understand the difference between the 2 meanings. Oh that is also if your using them Local if you have them setup working P2P then no they won't playback as a protection to the installed unit

Uninstalled and reinstalled ASP. It still does not work. Have used the default settings. What or where could I adjust something to make it work?

By the way, with Amcrest View Pro I can access the recordings without any problems. But is too small for me on the iPhone and would rather view the recordings on the laptop. ASP I like well if the view of the recordings would work.

Another option is to use Edge in IE mode.

In Edge I can view the recordings, but here I can't find a way to automatically play all the clips one after the other. Maybe I'm missing something and it might work.

A timeline would also be nice, but I have not found.

Well there are 2 things thing. One your using Edge without using IE mode. Looking at picture below you can see what it looks like for IE mode in edge. OR second it might be that your FW no longer has the Timeline So I don't have a 841 right now with Msd installed so I can't look however my 841v3 that was made for Chrome normally does work in IE mode on edge and there is still a time line in there. In Edge without IE mode no time line. I did just format the 841v3 early AM so there are not current files but showing for time line

The picture at IP 175 is the V3 841 and the 70 is my Amcrest 850EB with 128gb WD Purple cards.
