Hello,
I have the ProHD 1080P IP2M-841. It will no longer record to the SD card. I have the schedule all set (record motion), Destination set (SD card), Record Control set (Disk full: Overwrite). The SD card is now full, and it will not record anything further. I'm sure I can format the card, but that is not the point. When watching the live view, the record light will turn on as though it should be recording, but the camera is not saving it to the SD card. I can provide screen shots of any of the setting in the Web Viewer if needed. Any suggestions?
I'm thinking I will not be purchasing any additional cameras and will need to update my positive review on Amazon...
Camera will not record to SD card
Re: Camera will not record to SD card
You need to sync the camera to your computer settings by the Date and Time. I was having the same problem and it fixed it.
SETUP/System/General/Date & Time/Current Time - PC Sync
That should fix it.
SETUP/System/General/Date & Time/Current Time - PC Sync
That should fix it.
Re: Camera will not record to SD card
I had that issue a few months ago, resolved it and now that the SD card has filled up, it will not continue recording. Despite my selecting "Disk Full: Overwrite" in the record settings.
Re: Camera will not record to SD card
my camera used to record to the sd card with no issues, worked great.
at some point it just stopped.
I have reformatted, tried new cards, nothing works and that was my favorite feature.
resyncing the time did not help.
does anyone have any other ideas

Re: Camera will not record to SD card
Hello and welcome to the Forum @Kstorn
I am going to guess that at some point your Schedule for Recording got off track. If you have changed out the MSD card and it isn't working my first guess was going to be that your card is bad. They as good as they are don't last forever. Seeing you have thought about that. I would look into your settings for 2 things. Is it setup to record for xyz all the time or did motion get set. Then did the Check mark next to that setting get checked? In the settings area for storage is where you would find the settings.

Re: Camera will not record to SD card
It is amazing how many fake SD cards are sold. They are usually low capacity re-configured (this is information embedded on the card) as having many times the capacity that they actually have for example a card configured as say 64GB may only have 16GB space. When you use it, all is well until the 16GB has been used and then everything falls apart. The criminals who produce them do such a good job you can't spot them visually. There are apps available that will check the cards for you but you can do it by simply creating a folder and filling it with files until it is just a few hundred MB below the card capacity. Write the folder to the card using a card reader and fake cards fail when they run out of available space. I found out about this myself the hard way, although the card was purchased from a reputable source.
There's a limited number of times that cards can be overwritten. Only high endurance cards should be used.
In my experience, the file system sometimes becomes corrupted and I correct this on my PC in a card reader using Windows/properties/tools/repair disk.
If all else fails then it's time to give Amcrest support a call https://amcrest.com/contacts

Re: Camera will not record to SD card
I have two amcrest cameras of same models. The one in front works well and records. The one on the back the SD keep disappearing in the app until I reformat. The SD card came with the cameras. I tried everything that I know and still won't record. The SD HDD in app shows that it is recording due to GB used increasing and GB left decreasing, but in playback no recording found. I am about to switch to ReoLink cameras since the app is much better to use. Not afraid to say Amcrest is a piece of sh---.

Re: Camera will not record to SD card
I have a similar issue with an Amcrest Camera where the camera used to record to an SD card (256 GB) but has stopped doing so.
Camera Information:
- Model: IP5M-D1188E
- Software Version: V2.820.00AC002.0.R
- Powered by: PoE
- SD Card Size: 256 GB
I took out the SD card and tried to read the content via the computer but noticed that access to the SD card was not allowed. The error message displayed was:
I then tried to use the formatting tool suggested by Amcrest, but the formatting failed. This explains why the camera is no longer recording to the SD card.
Solution:
To resolve this, I performed the following steps:
1. Open PowerShell on your Windows PC.
2. Type `diskpart` and press Enter.
3. Type `list disk` and press Enter.
4. Type `select disk <disk number>` (replace `<disk number>` with the actual number of your SD card) and press Enter.
5. Type `clean` and press Enter. This will remove the block and clean up the SD card.
6. Use the SD card formatting tool to format it to FAT32. You can follow the instructions on this page: How To Format a MicroSD Card
7. Insert the SD card back into the camera.
8. Power cycle the camera.
9. After the camera starts live streaming, walk in front of the camera to trigger a motion event and ensure it starts recording.
10. Verify the recording on your PC client or phone client.
