Hi Gurus!
New to this forum, but not new to camera setup or Amcrest. I have setup and used Amcrest cameras with DVR's and the old analog stuff and NVR's for nearly 10 years now but have recently tried using the ASH43 wifi camera, with limited success.
OK, the old app won't set it up... Things change. However, I have setup the ASH43 3 times with the Smart Home App and connected it to my NVR, only to find it "disconnects itself" within a few weeks every time...
This time, when I tried to reconfigure it by bringing up the Smart Home App, it tells me "Network Error". Check your network. Well, my network seems to be fine. I tried connecting my phone (Android) on both the 2.4G and 5G wifi in case it mattered, but still no luck. Sooo I deleted the app and re-installed it. Sure enough, after logging in, I can see the camera in the Smart Home App, however it still will not stay connected to the NVR.
Any thoughts?
Anyone know where I can buy some of the IP3M cameras.. They seem to be a lot more stable.

ASH43 Connection Issues

Re: ASH43 Connection Issues
Has anyone else tried connection an ASH camera to an Amcrest NVR? Have you experienced these issues?

Re: ASH43 Connection Issues
I have multi ASH products on my Amcrest NVRs.. No issues. However if you don't already own the ASH product in question. I would personally find a IP camera to keep with the normal line of IP cameras.. I mean if you are doing it for Wifi connection, Keep in mind that wifi isn't always that good and unless the device is going to be in the same room as your router. It might loose connection right at the time you need it the most..
Be Safe.
Re: ASH43 Connection Issues
Thanks Revo2Maxx for the response. The WiFi at the camera location is good. My phone app shows it is -49 to -52 dBm which should be adequate. I have checked to make sure the camera has the latest firmware and tried a different power adapter as requested through their help contact. It is re-connected now, and hopefully it stays connected. I have an IP3M that is 2 concrete walls farther from the router and have not seen any connection issues with it. If it lost connection, then re-connected I would be OK with it, but once it looses connection I have to physically go to the NVR and force it to reconnect. (Maybe it's getting a different IP???) I have it set to "static" and I have a reservation set at the router, but maybe.... Hummm. One more thing to check.
Re: ASH43 Connection Issues
Just as an FYI, I have a 3-year-old ASH43 that has worked relatively well. I recently bought another ASH43 and could never get it set up. I've gone through the process described in previous posts both on my own and with tech support with no success. During this time, my SmartHome app showed a "Device offline" error for my old camera, and now it is givng me the same set up errors. I'm starting to think these cameras simply won't work with the SmartHome app anymore. Or maybe just won't work at all. I know WiFi cameras are a crapshoot, but it's odd that both cameras give me the same setup errors.
