AD410: ChimeKit still included/required?

Post by dahai8 »

I see Amazon listings and Amcrest product pages, but none of them state the ChimeKit is included with the AD410 DoorBell. Reviews and Installation instructions on YouTube from last year cover it.
Is it still part of the product and still required?
Thanks!

Yes the AD410 comes with a Chime Kit and if you are going to use this with a Indoor or outdoor chime then yes it is needed. However if you are going to use it stand alone then no it is not needed. I don't use one on my AD410 as it isn't connected to a Bell of any type..

Yup, I saw that in the list of documentation, but clicking on the "What's Included" tab lists only these things:
1 x Amcrest 4-Megapixel WiFi Video Doorbell Camera (AD410)
1 x Corner Bracket
1 x Wedge Bracket
Installartion Tools
Quick Start Guide
(yeah, they misspelled "Installation")
Thanks for the clarification. Reviews have been good and being able to record locally as well as integrate with Home Assistant without "The Cloud" looks like a winner to me. Will be buying one soon.
Cheers.

As per their system it is. However it is coming up as a 5mp seeing it is around 4.915 for mine anyway..

However it might be an issue where they have a 4mp lens on a over 4mp Sensor. Also maybe it is what they had at the time they built these and maybe the newer ones will be released with a 4mp sensor. So don't know I mean mine comes up 2560x1920 (5M) where a 4mp is 2560x1440 (4M) for me I was shocked to see it was 5mp even though box says it is 4mp2k..

The AD410 technical spec sheet (https://amcrest.com/downloadable/downlo ... /id/27318/) also confirms 4.9MP which marketing apparently misread. That was the point of my post - misspelling and not mentioning the chime kit in the box are minor compared to getting this camera resolution wrong. How many people have looked at alternatives to get a "superior" 5MP doorbell? I know in other forums this has in fact occurred.

It's highly unlikely a 4MP sensor version is upcoming to explain their mistake.

Understand. Found it odd. Thanks for point all that out.

Oddly this camera options for Encoding is 5mp or 1.5mp at 1440x1080 and find that crazy.. I have other 5mp cameras that can do many different ranges 1080p, 3m, 4m and 5m were in all. Yet the Doorbell only the 2 options..

I mean in most cases I have seen 1440P as 2k this camera is called 2k however it is 5mp. Then oddly 3mp in some cameras were marked as 2k it is just all hard to wrap my head around lol..
