Hello,
I am trying to set up my Amcrest IP camera, but I need a mac address to give a device an internet connection. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find one externally and a lot of the solutions I've seen need the device connected already. Is there a way?
Thanks
Where to find Mac Address?
Re: Where to find Mac Address?
Hello and Welcome to the forum
Best option is to setup your camera by connecting it to your router or some other type of network connection device be it a switch or hub that your computers network is connected to.
Then you could do an arp -a from windows command prompt.
Then your looking for a Mac Address that would look like 9c-8e-cd-xx-xx-xx with the last 6 x in that as your mac address. Some older machines might be 3c-ef-ac-xx-xx-xx or 4c-11-bf-xx-xx-xx. That will be your amcrest device mac.

Re: Where to find Mac Address?
If you need an internet connection to set up your camera, you probably have an Amcrest Smart Home camera. It may depend on model, but my Amcrest Smart Home ASH21 camera has a label on it that shows the MAC address.
Re: Where to find Mac Address?
@jack7 out of 9 easy access 841's not one of them had a Mac Address on the Label on the bottom. Also looked at my 956EB it also don't have a Mac Address printed. As you pointed out the ASH21 does. I mean I do have some other cameras from Dahua that does, most of them older and some OEM's, The newer 2020 models are to high up my guess is they do as well. However it might be where a type of camera is made that makes them print labels with Mac Addresses. Because I know that the Doorbell AD110 also has a Mac addresses that they printed as Wifi Mac Address like there was another? lol..
I am not sure, I think if memory is correct many years ago I had a router that if I didn't know the Mac Address of a device I wasn't able to add it, Maybe the OP is dealing with something like that. With today standard routers they can hand out using DHCP and will pool into a table in the router. Also software can be used to find the IP and Mac address as well, like Ip Config Tool. Worse case the OP can setup a Static IP on a Laptop or Desktop of something in the 192.168.1.100 and or 192.168.0.100 and depending on what IP they setup for the camera they could use a cable from computer to the camera and arp -a looking for a address that would normally come stock as 192.168.1.108 and or 0.108 and next to that IP address it will show the Mac Address for the camera...
