nybody using an Amcrest DVR with other brands of cameras? I've got an Amcrest AMD108016 DVR, and Samsung SDC-9441BC cameras. They seem to be mostly compatible, but I can only get black & white video from the cams. Right now I'm going on the assumption that this is because the Night Vision is turned on...?
Supposedly I should be able to turn off IR from the web interface at Setup > Camera > Configuration, but there is no button, toggle, or control of any kind for this function there.
Anyone have any input or experience which might help?
Using Amcrest DVR with other brands of Cameras?
Re: Using Amcrest DVR with other brands of Cameras?
It's the camera mode that matters, not the brand. I found out the hard way.
I'm using an AMDV10804 DVR, and it's designed for CVI cameras. With cameras in any mode other than CVI it displays a black & white image. I have 3 different camera brands, each camera has a switch at the camera to select the mode (ie, CVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS).
If your cameras don't have a mode selector, they may not be compatible. Check your Amcrest DVR to see if it says CVI or what mode it supports. Be sure your cameras are the correct type, and yes try them out in daylight to be sure.
