Is there a way to turn off infrared lights at night? My cameras are inside, standing against the glass window and as such infrareds reflect a light off of glass back into the camera.
Cameras are QCam 3MP.
System was purchased on Amazon here - http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B013VS7TQK/ref= ... 20_TE_dp_1
In order to turn off the IR lights, I used my PC and logged into the camera. At the top right click "SETUP", then click "CAMERA", then "Configuration". On the bottom right of the screen you should see "Night Vision" that has a drop down menu on the right of it. Click the drop down and change the setting from "Auto" to "Off".
The system you have does not have an option to turn of the IR LED's. They turn on/off automatically and is not adjustable.
Hi Melvin,
I do not understand why this is not possible. Is this something that would be updated in a firmware release? Any camera too close to a wall or looking through glass makes it impossible to see anything at all at night.
Is it the DVR or the cameras that make it not possible to do this?
The cameras does not have the equipment to listen to any command from the DVR as it connects through coax cable. Output the video to the DVR is basically all what the camera does.
Only IP cameras can be remotely controlled like this at the moment.
I turned off the night vision (IR) by entering the camera setup through device config then the web. Once on the WEB click on night vision then the drop down and choose off. Hit save then you are set. I had to do this to prevent the glare from the IR. Enjoy
