I have my camera set up to push the videos and pictures to an FTP server. In order to view the videos, I installed the Smart Play application. So now I can download the .dav files from my FTP server and play them. But what I noticed is that Smart Play only plays the last 20 seconds or so of each file.
For example, one of my files is named "23.05.56-23.06.40[M][0@0][0].dav". When I play this in Smart Play, it begins at 23:06:20 instead of 23:05:56. What setting did I miss?
Thank you!
Smart Play doesn't play whole dav file
Re: Smart Play doesn't play whole dav file
It looks like the issue may be with differences between what gets recorded to the MicroSD card and what gets recorded to a remote FTP server. I started a different thread for this here: https://amcrest.com/forum/recording-to- ... -t473.html
Re: Smart Play doesn't play whole dav file
Hello,
I have the experienced similar issue today. I have a recording saved to my local PC from amcrest 1080P IP camera. The recording is for about 14-15 hours. The size of the saved *.dav file is almost 4GB. The problem is I could see only the first about six hours and then the view is stopped. Moreover, now I can watch only the first 2.5 hours instead of 6 hours before!
I have not changed anything with the file.
Can someone suggest a better software to view *.dav files, as Smart Play apparently has issues and thus cannot be used for a surveillance purposes!
Regards,
Rusman

Hello,
You can try installing the KLite codec pack and this will have a video player as well as the required codecs to play the video from other video players as well. This is a third party software and not proprietary from us, so we are not responsible for any issues related to this program.

How will this help with the file? I can play it but not the whole.
