Problems getting NAS Storage to work

Post by srwamcrest »

Hi folks:

I'm having some difficulty in getting the NAS storage feature to work properly. I have an NFS3 export setup on a Linux system with this configuration:

/NFS/Cameras (async,anonuid=1000,insecure,nohide,no_subtree_check,anongid=1000,rw)

The location /NFS/Cameras is a mount --bind point that refers to an existing hard disk directory. I tested the export by mounting it on another Linux system where I was able to create files, sub-directories, and files within those sub-directories, so I think it's working correctly.

On the cameras (two IP2M-841B's with firmware 2.520.AC00.18.R, Build Date: 2017-06-29) I have the following setup for recording (the links are screen shots):

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X60x5C ... p=sharingb

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uUOhrj ... sp=sharing

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PfpHU_ ... sp=sharing

When I go to the live view and hit the record button (the movie camera icon at the top), all I get is a sub-directory created with the name of the camera and inside that sub-directory a file called DVRWorkDirectory is created with a size of about 4K. There is nothing else.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, as the creation of the sub-directory with the camera's name and the file within that sub-directory would seem to indicate that the camera was successful in establish an NFS share with the Linux system. I tried this on two separate cameras with exactly the same result.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Edit:

OK, I think I get it now. Apparently one cannot do a live record to the storage location, and must do it to a local location on the system where the browser window is running? That sort of stinks of that's the case.
