When I set one of my IP3M-941 cameras up initially, I tried it out on wi-fi. It worked OK but as I have an ethernet socket near to the camera, I use it on ethernet. The camera's IP when on ethernet is 192.168.178.24 static address.
I take manual snapshots at random times throughout the day which are uploaded to my web site using a static name and this camera is a real pain because it fails to 'wake up' initially and I have to try 3 or 4 times before it responds. The whole process for snapshots from three cameras should take a single click.
While investigating, I looked at my router settings and saw that the camera had a live connection both on wi-fi and ethernet with separate IP's and so I disconnected the ethernet cable from the camera and logged in to it using the wi-fi address 192.168.178.25. These screenshots show what I'm talking about, note that these are whilst logged into the wi-fi address.
Since removing the ethernet cable, the camera is now responding first time when I take a snapshot so it seems almost as if it was confused about which connection to respond on in spite of the settings.
I'm assuming that a factory reset would resolve the confusion but I'll leave it for now with the apparently incorrect settings. It seems that you need to decide right from the outset whether you are going to use a camera on ethernet or wi-fi.
I'm also wondering whether this situation has anything to do with other problems that people report when using the web SDK.
Once on wi-fi - always on wi-fi??

Re: Once on wi-fi - always on wi-fi??
You have camera wifi disabled and no ethernet cable connected. You should not be able to connect at all. Something is wrong.
An Amcrest IP4M-1026 wifi camera I have with 2018 firmware does not do that.

Re: Once on wi-fi - always on wi-fi??
I agree, what I'm seeing defies logic. In the next day or so I'll be doing a factory reset and set up again with ethernet not using wi-fi at all.

Re: Once on wi-fi - always on wi-fi??
I would have to agree if it was not enabled and no cable plugged in I have tested a few of my 841's and non will do that.. They do however and I still find odd work down both IP's if connected by cable..
Infact something I just noticed as well that my NEW ASP install has only picked up a camera in Device Search that I have cable connected to and Wifi Active where I just setup the Wifi last month testing out ASP only finds my PC-NVR and that 1 Camera IP that isn't even setup as Default or in use because I have the cable installed still..
However it is on 2020 FW not that it should matter but thought I would Mention it..

Re: Once on wi-fi - always on wi-fi??
Downloaded a fresh copy of the firmware, installed it and then did hard reset. No more wi-fi connection. I suspect that a hard reset might have done the job. Firmware as in my sig which is latest version.
My conclusion is that the web UI settings page doesn't always show the true situation.
