No videos will record

Hello,

I cannot get any videos to record.

Model: IP2M-841B
Firmware: 2.420.AC00.11.R
Build : 2016-01-06

I've had it for about two weeks now and I get motion alert emails just fine but no recordings.
I have tried setting the recording location to SD as well as a local FTP server, neither will generate any files.
As well, nothing seems to be getting Logged. If I visit Information >> Log, the reports are always empty.

My settings:
Camera >> Video >> Substream >> Enabled

Event >> Video Detection >> Motion Detect >> Enabled
Schedule:

Record Delay: 10s
Relay-Out: Disabled
Send Email: Enabled
PTZ: Disabled

SD Card for all 3 boxes on both categories.

Storage >> Destination >> SD Card
Currently shows 10% of space being used

Storage >> Record Control >> Record Control
Pack Duration: 8
Pre-event: 5
Disk Full: Overwrite
Record Mode: Auto
Record Stream: Main ( Have also tried Sub)


I have taken the SD card out and it will show that plenty of space is being used but there's only one 4kb file present.
I have tried applying the settings through Amcrest Web View as well as Amcrest Surveillance Pro.

Any help is appreciated!

Hello claws,

The setting looks perfect for motion detection recording. Can you try formatting the SD card in fat32 format? If you are using a 32 or 64 Gb card this is required as it comes pre formatted in a different format.

Hello Melvin,

Thank you for replying and helping me out.
It is a 4GB MicroSD formatted as FAT32. I even tried re-formatting it using the "Format" button on the web panel.

Before using it in the camera I was using it for another device which could read/write to it, but do you think the camera is having issues writing to it and I should use a different card?

I'm pretty lost on the next steps to take, especially if you say the settings look perfect.

I think you need at minimum a Class-6 SD card (call support to confirm.) If you're using an older SD Card, try buying a new Class-10 SD card.

Hello claws,

I think its the card. Please try a different one if you have any chance. You can try a class 6 or above micro SD card. If that does not work either, try a hard reset on the camera to give it a try. You will lose all the settings when you do that and will have to set up the camera from the beginning. For hard reset, press and hold down the indicator light on the back of the camera for more than 10 seconds.
