No recording during live view
No recording during live view
I have an 8MP outdoor dome camera. If I'm watching the camera and there's a movement, it does not record. I have observed this behavior several times in the past. Is it how it's supposed to work or is it a bug?
Re: No recording during live view
Stop watching the camera and Have fun recording lol.. Just kidding...
So are you saying that while your not watching live view of this camera and there is motion it records? However if your using Chrome or IE to watch LiveView and there is motion it don't Record?

Re: No recording during live view
When I'm watching live view of the camera in Amcrest View Pro app on my phone and it happens there is motion, it is not recorded. I didn't try it in the browser.
Re: No recording during live view
Strange I am going to need more info...
What is it not recording to anymore? SD card on the camera or the DVR/NVR?
What is the camera I see you said it was a 8MP so i am going to guess that it is a Higher in the a LOW end Camera that can't do both as there are some companies that can't Encode and things but that was gone with better built cameras I would guess...
I have Cameras that are going to DVR, PC-NVR, MSD, and even being sent to my FTP server and there is no issue with them not recording while it is playing...
So then that brings this to my mind... Each of the Cameras or what not have a Package Record setting... This might be why you think it isn't recording motion or not able to play back right after motion is on because the system has not had the ability to finish the package...
Also for me I have my System Recording 24/7 with Motion backup and this gives me the ability to search by event rather then look over the whole day looking for something...
However in the case this is True might want to post the Camera or system so others if the system don't Record while in Live View others know and can make a Informed purchase of these... However it might be just a setting as well. I remember seeing something some where I can't remember now that you could toggle on live view no recording but that is not a Very good Security Choice in my mind because how could you prove anything you seen if it isn't recording.. Ridiculous idea...

Re: No recording during live view
My camera model number is IP8M-2493E. I'm recording to the microSD card on the camera. After this happened in Amcrest View Pro app, I went to Push Notifications and then Event List, the motion that I just watched was not in the list. The motion was a person walking on my driveway. The camera' sensitivity is set to 65. I get many notifications during the day even when the shadows of the leaves in my front yard move.
Re: No recording during live view
Well I am going to guess that the issue was that you didn't give it the chance to Record on the Event to the fullest. Also there is Network issues from time to time but I am not going to guess that was the issue seeing your going to the MSD in the camera....
For what ever reason Events on Push is Randomly glitch prone.. Your Camera does Record while watching live view so there is no issue there...
I am going to guess that you might want to put your Record time at a lower value and also set your Post Record at a lower value as well. Also to try and get push of a Video is Glitch Prone in all my testing and to be Honest I would use Photo or Live view. Main issue there is that your Push can time out if your in a Bad area with Network lag, between buildings or in the Mountains..
For me I set mine to Live View most times as it pops up the system of what is happening when I get the notice. While this too isn't 100% to our liking always do to many different issues it does give me a Time frame to look back on my Recorder to see what happen at that time... That is truely what I have started to use mine as. However I am always Recording because no matter how much or hard you try on any system that don't have AI there is no true way to get 100% Motion of what you want and don't want so rather then me recording like right now when it is Snowing and most of my Screens looks like I have a wall of snow falling and getting loads of Messages that there is Motion at xy or z I leave on 24/7 recording purge my data every 3 days if there is nothing that needs to be saved. My FTP server keeps the data for a Month under normal times but I have been purging that weekly for a while now but most times was going a month before clearing it out...
