NO DISK Message - How To Fix

Post by pinnaclestructures »

I have am Amcrest DVR that I noticed wasn't recording and when I went to check the settings, it said NO DISK.

I've made a few searches for this problem but not finding much on how to fix without replacing DVR or drive.

My main challenge is that his system is 200 miles away in an office with employees whom will not be comfortable in replacing the drive if needed.

Any suggestions beyond replacement? It is an NV1104 with two IPM-721 cameras.

Hello pinnaclestructures ,

Usually NVR's do not come with a hard drive except in a few systems we have. Did you put a hard drive in it? If so , it will be worth opening the NVR and checking the sata and power connections on the hard drive are intact. Please find a video link for inserting hard drive on to NVR below.

Gosh I feel silly now...I guess I assumed this was like my other Amcrest systems we have here on campus. I am sure that is it.

Can we use an external, USB Hard Drive?

Hello pinnaclestructures,

No unfortunately USB drives can be used to copy files from internal drive but it cannot record to external drive directly.
