Night Vision with IP2M-841EB
Night Vision with IP2M-841EB
I just installed this. During the day the stream looks good but after dark the stream goes black. I see no setting in the Am Surv Pro that could turn on IR or night vision. Did I buy an IP cam that cannot do night vision? The package says "non-visible IR LEDs allow you to see in complete darkness." The cam is indoors but views outdoors through a thin glass pane.

If you look at the lens of the camera at night, you will see very faint red lights. Unfortunately you cannot shine that light through a glass window and it illuminate the outside. My son just went through the exact same thing, it will not shine through that glass.

Hello Glennlr
What you will need to do is access your 841 over a WebUI this camera is still on a 2018FW and with that FW you will need to use MS IE.. However if you don't have your camera connected to your normal network say it is over a POE NVR then you will need to move the Camera to your Network using a POE switch or Power cord that came with the camera... However you said that your working in ASP so I am going to guess that you have it connected to your normal network... So you will want to connect to your Cameras IP address with IE then once your camera loads you will want to go to the Setup and then configuration for the camera..
IN there you will see area that talks about Day Night and Night Vision.. You will want to setup a Schedule or I guess you could still leave it the normal Auto in Full time mode just need to change the Normal, Night and Day Night vision settings to all OFF. The Options are Manual, Smart IR and Off... Once you have that set as such then it should keep your IR off at night after the sun goes down...
However if you need to make camera changes for day and night then you would want to make a Schedule under Profile Management, Then pick Schedule, then move the slider on the left to what time you want your day to start, then slider on the right towards the left for when you want night to start... Once you have that setup for your Day and Night area drop down area you make changes in there and it will use them rules at the time you set..
IF your trying to see out a Window with good Light at night you can keep your day and night setup for color full time or change to auto and if you have an issue where the camera changes back to color and b/w to much for your happiness you can tell the Night to be in Full time B/W...
If you don't have enough light at night you can use a External IR blaster as well... This you would mount outside and have in your Cameras FOV and doing so can help see even seeing your camera indoors the external IR blaster would better your camera view in dark nights...

Re: Night Vision with IP2M-841EB
Thanks to all. I opened the IP cam in MS Edge and the night vision and fiddled with the new settings that appeared n the cam is now 1working like a charm. The live stream looks bright as day.... Well, not quite bright as day. Dark and grainy to be precise as soon as the darkness became complete. Kind of what you'd expect to see in a Bigfoot video. I may upgrade the cam.
