I have the Amcrest 1080P HD Pro. I have an iphone 6 and using the View Pro app. It seems as though I was able to set up the camera and access it through the View app. I'm also able to access the camera through my PC. Beyond this simple access, things become less straight forward. There's the View app, the Cloud app, desktop access to the Cloud and desktop access through Amcrest IP Config to control the camera. I'm pretty sure I registered the camera wherever possible. It seems I can control it from each of these locations.
What I'd like to do is control the camera through the iphone app, set it to start recording when motion is detected and notify me via an iphone alert that motion recording was triggered. Record all captured video to the Cloud on the 4hrs of free storage and be able to access that video as well as download it on my phone.
This is where the problems start. Do I need to set motion alerts in more than one place or should I be able to do it all from the iphone app? When I did get it working, I was never able to play anything back from the iphone app.
Ideally, I want to be able to control everything from my phone, not have to worry about logging in to 3 different locations. Receive motion/alarm alerts on my phone, and playback any recorded video that the camera captures. All in the Cloud.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello,
If all you want is to be able to receive motion alerts on your phone and live view and play back videos from SD card, you can just use the Amcrest View Pro App. You can put an SD card in the camera and have it record to the card and send you push notification with Snapshot or Live View. If you want cloud recording and playback from Cloud, you will need to use the Amcrest Cloud app on your Phone.

Re: Need help with Amcrest 1080P Pro
This camera has great video quality, day & night. It was an easy "initial" setup to see the camera on my phone. From there it has been a calamity of trial and error. Is there not a well working app that does it all? I tried the desktop app for setting up the camera and motion detection and notification pushes....worked well one day. The next day not a single motion notification and I had set up while I was walking in/out of the room. Next day I get notifications all day long when not a single person moved inside the room. Using the cloud connection has been more accurate about the motion sense and notification pushes but it won't load my camera in live view and has very limited settings. I have a couple apps on my phone mostly for viewing and sometimes those apps don't load video a high percentage. I have another app on my computer called surveillance pro. Every time I look at it I just see if the live view loads and close it; I guess I just keep using apps and programs until I get the right combination for my taste. I thought the tech for running these cameras would be more reliable and comprehensive than they seem to be; or am I missing something?

YES YES YES! I'm so tired of trying to figure what app is used for what! C'mon Amcrest... It is absolutely absurd to have so many freaking apps and different ways to connect to this and that. There should be one website and one app.
Re: Need help with Amcrest 1080P Pro
Hello All,
Sorry to hear some of you are having trouble with our products. Amcrest has a wide range of products and hence the different apps that you see. For the IP camera, the correct app would be Amcrest View Lite (or Pro the paid version which supports push notification). To set up the camera on the app, you can use the P2p method which is the easiest way to set up by scanning the QR code on the camera. We had an outage recently on the P2P due to migration. It should be working just fine now. If you are still experiencing the issue, we would recommend you try a power recycle on the camera.

I had my camera "working", (getting notifications and being able to control video in one app, view recorded video in another) as of the time of my original post. Since then, I've unplugged the camera. Plugged it back in on 12/23, now nothing works. I'm able to view the video on all the different apps/desktop, but can't get it to record video to the cloud, send motion alerts, or record video to the cloud. It's now 12/24 and still unable to work. How can I rely on this for security with such spotty performance? I just need one app that I can control the camera with, set it to record to cloud, alert me with motion and record automatically when motion is detected. Then allow me to watch recorded video. All from the same app. Is this possible? Most importantly, it has to work consistently. I don't want to have to constantly restart, install/un-install, or power cycle. What if I'm not home to do this when the device decides to just stop working?Melvin wrote:Hello All,

Update:
I did a hard reset on the camera and set it up again for the first time on my iphone 6 for the View Pro app and Cloud app. Also on the desktop with the link from the Amcrest IP Config and the Cloud. I think I got everything. Crazy redundancy. The camera is now sending alerts and I'm able to view video recorded during these events. Granted I still have to use 2 different apps to accomplish this task.
One problem that still persists. On the Iphone apps, when a motion alert is sent, it won't play a sound when the phone is locked. I can get it to display the alert on the lock screen, but no matter how much I tell it to play a sound (with the appropriate tabs), it remains silent. All other apps on my phone deliver an audible tone associated with their alerts. So I know the problem isn't with my phone. It has to be a software issue right?
A few other things of concern. Are there any conflicts between the apps and desktop applications? If I set one will it conflict with the others? Do I have to set them all to do the same thing? If I record to SD card, will it still record to cloud? None of this is covered in any instructions I could find.
If I leave the camera unplugged for an extended period of time, will I need to reset it again to get it to work?
Also, I could not get the camera to set up initially with P2P. Had to select WiFi. ???

Re: Need help with Amcrest 1080P Pro
ok, thanks for the replies. My computer and internet went down. So i'm getting everything back up and running. I can access my ip cam from the amcrest cloud. I also go to the ip address of my camera via IE. I do have a program on my computer call Amcrest Surveillance Pro. On both programs I can not get the smtp settings to send a successful email. I did have it working before everything went haywire with my computer/internet but remember it was a pill setting it up. I have tried every combo avail and I've set my email (Hotmail) to accept pop settings. I have no idea.

Hello,
Ensure that you have all the right settings for Email SMTP. Go to Network settings from the web interface and from TCP/IP change IP for the wireless adapter to DHCP. Save the settings and test again. If this works, you can put the IP back to static again and check if its working.

So at the end your problem got solved? i have the same issue, exactly the same issue... looks like you got no answer here in this forum, any luck fixing it yourself?
