Issue with Amcrest Surveillance Pro - Video Streaming but not visible (IP2M-841B)

Post by mohamednegm123 »

I am facing an issue since I re-installed my Windows 10 64-bit version and reinstalled Amcrest Surveillance Pro again. The cameras appear to be streaming and I can see the speed indicator changing every second, however there seems to be an "encoding" issue causing the video not to be visible, and it just shows the last thing that was open in the background (check the attachments). This is happening in both Live view and Playback as well.

Outside the software, the camera is working fine. I tried streaming on Blue Iris & on the Chrome portal and both worked fine with no issues. I am suspecting this could be a conflict between the software and the reinstalled version of Win 10, since I faced this issue right after the installation.

Please let me know how to resolve this. I tried contacting Tech Support numerous times, and every time they ask me to send an email with the screenshot, but nothing happens afterwards.

I attached photos of the issue.

Thanks.

You using Wifi for your computer or Cable?

If your on a Cat5 or 6 connection to your router try to change the Port in your router, or try changing the Cable..

Also at times there are things after a Refresh windows install that makes things little upset with hardware or software working... Then you have to ask your self was the reason for reinstall software related to only because of HDD update... If it was Software related then things get tricky... If it was just because you added a new HDD or maybe added a NEW SD Drive and that was why you did a Fresh install. Then what you want to do is go spend the hour or 2 to install all the new Updates that don't get installed after the Fresh Install... However I would also un install ASP until after all updates from WIndows is done... Once windows is done doing all the Updates then reinstall ASP... I know this is a lot of work.. I have had to do it a few times my self when putting in new SD Drives in place of my Windows Drives... Fun times... However It is very nice that Microsoft is kind enough to have a Good backbone to the internet and this will let the DL go fast as long as you have a Good Connection to the Internet as well.. If you are on a 1.5 or 7mb service yeah you will want to take a few hours aside to make updates... If you are on 60-100mb service then it won't take to much time... Like I said people don't realize what some companies do to try and support their customers.. I remember when I had Win 3.11 and had to do an update. Man I think it took a day to complete lol...

I am using Wireless connection. All I remember is that I replaced my HDD with an SSD one, then reinstalled the same windows I had before. Same drivers and everything. Yet since then I am facing this issue. I have another Windows 10 laptop (same model) at home and the software on it is working fine.

Yeah sadly it is hard to say... I am going to guess there is something not working right with the Software install or updates need to be ran... I am going to guess a MS driver issue.

Was this ever resolved? I have tried 4 computers and the only one that works is my work PC? none of my personal computers manages to show a live stream? only searching video. This tell me in it is on the PC side and not the NVR or the Network side.. I do see live bandwidth and can take a snapshot of the feed. just no video on screen. I tried installing DIVX as maybe its a codec issue but nothing. I have run out of Ideas... HELP!!

via the Amcrest Surveillance Pro Software
Goto Device CFG then under General click Encode and changed it to H.264
Encode Type Options

I'm having the exact same problem the original poster did. I am running the Amcrest Pro in wine on Linux Mint 22 and everything works except the camera's aren't visible. Says "Searching Video" and no picture. It is running in the background, I can see the numbers in kb of it downloading and I can take a snapshot and that works.

I have this installed on a windows laptop and it works fine. I also have the Amcrest app on my Android phone and it too works fine.

I've searched the internet over and over. The only result worth anything comes back to this thread but no solution was ever posted.

HELP!

PS. I did check and mine is already set to H.264 as mentioned in the previous post. I also tried H.264H with no luck. :(

I had the same issue and got mine working by running Amcrest Surveillance Pro as administrator.

Thank you for replying! I believe I was doing that. I was set to admin but none of the camera's were showing. I finally got it to work, see my post below:

I finally got my camera's to show!! Here is how I did this:

First off, I am using Linux Mint 22 so I had to use wine to run the amcrest pro software. I was originally using Bottles and running the latest version of the Amcrest Pro which is 64 bit. I could NEVER see the cameras with this method as I mentioned above.

Today I decided to try WineTricks instead of Bottles. After installing it, I also located an older 32 bit version of Amcrest Pro. With this method, it works flawlessly! I did not try using Bottles with the 32 bit version but it probably would have worked. I think the most important thing is using the 32 bit version.

I hope this helps someone else. This drove me crazy for MONTHS!!!!!

I now have the Amcrest Pro 32bit running on my Laptop with Windows, Mini PC with Linux Mint 22 and a Pi400 (used pi apps to install it on that computer) I am also using the Google playstore app on my Android phone but that might be 64 bit. ??
