I purchased my Amcrest system HD-CVI 720 4CH System back in February and since hooking it all up I've been going back and forth with Amcrest support over e-mail and phone conversations and then suddenly Amcrest went dark for about a month and then another agent e-mailed me back and tried picking up where they left off and by that point, I was confused as to what they were saying.
At any rate, I can view my cameras at home on my phone when I am on my Home WiFi network but cannot see them through the app when I'm away from home on LTE/4G/3G connection. Each camera says "Login Timeout". Why?
I've tried a bunch of different things when an agent was helping me troubleshoot this a while ago but we still never got it to work and I'm back to wanting to figure out what in the world the problem is and how I fix it.
Thanks
iPhone "Login Timeout" errors
Re: iPhone "Login Timeout" errors
Mine does the exact same thing. Let me know if ya get it figured out. Works perfect at home but the minute you leave your home wifi you get a login timeout msg.
Re: iPhone "Login Timeout" errors
Try adding your system without using the QR code. I found that remote access has improved greatly.
Add the device with register mode of ip/domain for better results.

Re: iPhone "Login Timeout" errors
Hello,
I'm sorry to hear you're still having issues. Since I'm not sure what all you have tried, I apologize if any of this is a repeat. Please try setting up UPnP or Port Forwarding to ensure that the DVR can be successfully accessed outside the local network.

Once it is remotely accessible, try using the DDNS option to add the camera on your phone.

Re: iPhone "Login Timeout" errors
I've actually went through all of those videos and apparently I've done all of them because my system reflects everything in them. My issue appears to be when I goto UPnP, it still says "Searching" despite being configured according to the video...but it won't pull any sort of LAN IP/WAN IP.
When I try to add my phone with any other method outside of the QR Code, I just get a login timeout when I attempt to add the DVR to my phone.
So frustrated that I've been dealing with this for months on end and just have no clue what to do.

Re: iPhone "Login Timeout" errors
If it constantly says "Searching" then it is likely that your router either doesn't support UPnP, it isn't enabled on the router, or the UPnP protocols are not compatible. What happens when you try to manually port forward the DVR? Are you still not able to access it? Also, once manually port forwarded, can the DVR been accessed by a computer from a remote network?
Re: iPhone "Login Timeout" errors
I also noticed this error. I think it maybe related to "Login Timeout" settings in the system. The system has 10 mins default and iPhone app may have a different settings, so it does not attempt to login again, yet the system is already kicked your connection out. I have increased system settings to 30 mins and when I get this error on iPhone I simply quit "Amcrest View" app with double home button click and when I re-launch it it seems to reconnect to the system fine.
BTW, I am using manual port forwarding on my router

Re: iPhone "Login Timeout" errors
All,
I just bought the camera and had the same issue. following what resolved the issue:
- set up port forwarding on your router. If you don't know google is your friend.
- check whether your port is open or not - I used http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
- on Amcrest pro app - change the IP address to your ISP's IP (not your home).
It shows the live camera without any issues. My mistake - I configured my home IP address on my camera which obviously cannot be accessible from outside. Simple solution.
