IP8M-T2499EW Unit not responding

Post by dpfishtech »

unit will arp broadcast on the network but isn't visible in the amcrest config tool. Packet capture shows ip as 192.168.1.251 in the arp but unable to ping that address or access with browser.

mac address: 9c:8e:cd:2b:0a:51

any way of reviving this?

Thanks

Hello and Welcome to the forum.

So is your normal network range in the 192.168.1.xxx range or is your normal network ip range something else like 10.0.0.xxx? Next if it is in your normal range there are some routers that are setup not to work at .251. Do you have other IP cameras that are setup in a range of about the same?

Worse case you might need to Reset the Camera back to Factory and then it should be given a IP from your router by default. If not then you would need to setup your computer to work outside of your normal network range to meet the needs of your camera. Like this computer I have setup for using 8 or more IP ranges I have lost track but there are a good many IP's that I can access even though my normal range for this computer is 10.0.0.xxx

normal range is 192.168.7.x

This camera was at address 192.168.7.202 and had been in operation since about 6/2020

the unit will intermittently reply to a ping at 192.168.1.108

I have 2 other cameras and a dvr at the moment which are working fine.

I added a 192.168.1.x address to my wifi adapter just in case.

I swapped the ethernet cable and poe port as well as the back end of the camera with another and same result.

I tried doing the factory reset but no luck there either.

Yeah I am not sure the added one at 192.168.1.108 is form that camera. My guess is that there is another camera that you have and working it with Wifi and setup from wifi setup. That camera can come up at times on a different IP from the Ethernet port if it has not been changed as the default over to the Wireless connection. (guess)

Next there should never be a reason that a camera that was already setup with an ip to change IP without some type of intervention. Or maybe it was once set at that IP and because it is failing it is trying or has tried to reboot to a IP that once worked from a software backup (Meaning software of the Camera) If it won't reset and can't access it, kind of sounds like the camera is dead..

its definitely that camera because the mac address is the same, I am using wireshark to look at the packets.

is there anyway to redo the firmware using the sd card?
