IP2M-842EB and Synology

Post by fornold »

I recently purchased the IP2M-842EB and I am wanting it to be part of the Surveillance Station on my Synology NAS. However, the Synology won't talk to it for some reason. There is not direct support for that model, but it does support ONVIF cameras and I have others.

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting this to work? Is there a different manufacturer/model number that would be equivalent that might work?

Thanks,
Dave

Did you try to do a search on your network for the camera? I have the QCAM 3MP POE cameras and put them on my network. From SS I did a search and it found them and just had to add the username and password. SS did all the rest.

IP2M-842 - Same problem.. SS will not find it on the network via TCP/UDP or ONVIF search. Adding manually with correct ports does not allow it to communicate either.

I had this problem. Called tech support, and they had me touch the two bare wires (fancy!) together to do a factory reset. You have to hold them for a while - like 30 seconds. After doing this twice (and all the associated setup twice), my Surveillance Station saw it. It's never been reliable, though, and I'll replace it with a different brand as soon as I have time.
