Hdcvi dvr problem
I just opened up my new 1080p 8 channel kit. Dvr took a lot of fiddling to get it to send signal out through VGA to monitor. Finally it did so I assumed all was well and started mounting wiring and cameras. Now it will not send signal out to monitor again. It’s very frustrating. Anyone have any suggestions that can help me?

Hello Jzammiello,
is the monitor not giving any signal at all like no menu etc? In that case ensure that the VGA cord on the back of the DVR and the monitor is connected properly. If only the cameras are not showing up ensure cameras have been connected to power and the video cables on the back of the DVR is properly fixed.
If you are still facing issues, please give us a call on 1-888-212-7538

Re: Hdcvi dvr problem
I found the problem. A white ribbon wire from the board to the front panel was folded over hard and being pinched under the hard drive. When straightened and relieved all worked fine.
However, now I have a new problem. I clicked a button concerning video matrix. Unit restarted and now it scrolls through all the cameras pictures but is completely unresponsive to anything else. No buttons on front work, remote doesn’t work. I can’t get to the menu at all to change things. What to do???

Re: Hdcvi dvr problem
I ran into this problem a while back and after a month of frustration, another customer pointed out the fix:
Hook up your DVR to your monitor or TV using the opposite cable that you currently are using. In other words, if you are connecting through VGA, switch over to HDMI. Conversely, if you are currently using HDMI, switch to VGA. (I had to connect my DVR to a different TV that had HDMI). Once connected, restart the DVR and it should be responsive again.
Apparently the Video Matrix button simply toggles the DVR function and Matrix output from VGA to HDMI and vice versa. Hope this helps

Hello Jzammiello ,
You can also turn of the Matrix option form the web interface of the system from a PC under System settings.

Re: Hdcvi dvr problem
Thank you fbrinson! That much helped me get back to the main menu. I never had a chance to setup the unit so that I could access it with another computer.
Now I notice that I can access the main menu when using VGA output and a monitor, however I cannot to so when using hdmi output on a tv. Anyone have any thoughts as to why that is?

Hello Jzammiello ,
To use the HDMI output the display out resolution of the DVR should be set to 1920/1080P depending upon the resolution of the HDMI monitor.
