I have an FTP server that I can access anytime/anywhere. I created a directory where I want all the motion recordings to be saved but no files are being uploaded. I have an Amcrest 960H and email notification is working. What is the format in the "remote directory" field? my directory is like C: drive > CCTV > MotionRecordings. i tried /, /CCTV/MotionRecordings, and /CCTV still no luck. any suggestions?
Thanks
FTP Remote Directory Setup
Re: FTP Remote Directory Setup
Two things you could try:
1. Does your Amcrest 960H connect to other FTP sites?
I have developed an FTP Web Service for IP cameras. This is currently free during testing and development. You could create a free account at https://app.comsci.co.uk/camac and try connecting your Amcrest 960H to this.
2. Can you connect to your FTP server using an FTP client? e.g. FileZilla or Windows Console FTP
command.
There is also a very comprehensive FTP site testing service at:
https://ftptest.net/
Create a dummy account on your FTP server and use the details to test your FTP server. There are lots of potential pitfalls that can prevent an FTP connection from working. Passive or Active mode, Port settings, firewall settings, TLS settings etc.
