Hello callmemike2000,

For the scaling issue in IE, please try the below steps.

1) Please navigate to C:/Program Files.
2) Go to the folder named 'Webrec'.
3) Go to the folder named 3.0.0.3
4) Right Click on the WebActiveX and go to 'Properties'.
5) Click on the 'Compatibility' tab and check the box 'Override high DPI scaling behavior ' and select 'Application' for 'Scaling performed by'.
6) Click on apply and OK and now restart internet explorer.

"We are indeed working on a permanent solution for the issue but we do not have an ETA at the moment."

You've been saying that for almost 3 years. You're not. It's just more vaporware and empty promises from another iteration of Foscam.
I guess it is finally time for us customers to vote with our wallets and rip out all our Amcrest equipment and buy something from a modern software company that can deliver a service in a modern, safe, secure browser and has a track record for doing so. This has indeed been going on for years and Amcrest has proven that they simply cannot develop the proper software to make their service work in a modern, safe browser. It's time for me to start my research and then rip their installation out. A waste of money, for sure, to replace the hardware, but it won't be nearly as hard to replace existing cameras and cables as it was to install everything the first time since I should be able to use all the same mounts, holes and cable runs. Bye, bye Amcrest. You've had three years to fix this and stay on top of evolving browsers and have proven only that you don't even yet have a public schedule for doing so.

Clearly a big mistake to have chosen Amcrest in the first place. It's probably also time to make sure the word gets around that people really shouldn't buy Amcrest any more.
jfriend00, totally agree. What vendor do you recommend?

I am quite disappointed by the lack of software and firmware development for Amcrest IP cameras as well. Seems quite unacceptable to have to use a soon-to-be obsolete version of Firefox to access my Amcrest IP camera.

The issue is ActiveX. Most of these IP cameras use ActiveX and the most current Firefox, and now IE, will not allow the use of ActiveX. I have Foscam, Amcrest, and Panasonic cameras and the only ones that work with Firefox 58 (latest) and IE 11.850.15063.0 are the Panasonics. I contacted FDT about their 1080P camera and they use ActiveX too. I have been looking for a work-around since getting a new PC 2 weeks ago. My old PC had IE 11.192.16299.0 and Firefox ESR 52 and both worked with all my cameras. However, Firefox gave me other problems so I updated the old PC to FF57 and ActiveX is not allowed with it either.
For now, you might want to rethink getting rid of that old PC.

IE TAB worked for me but costs $19.

Wanna join a class-action lawsuit for all of since Amcrest cameras cost and additional $19 for software to run their cameras??

Any official word on a fix?

LOL now that is funny.. Class Action for what? 19 for what IE tab lol. Really get Edge and there is no cost.. Better yet DL and install FREE ASP from Amcrest and you can use your cameras that Expired years ago and all new and ones to come.. To blame Amcrest for IE (MicroSoft) charging you 19 for software to run on Chrome is Ludicrous. lol

Plus I still use IE at this time. Sure every time I start it Edge Pops up trying to get me to Force quit it. I don't I Force Stop Edge and I keep using IE. There will be a day that I won't be able to use it and when that day comes I will just use Edge with IE tab that MS says they will support until 2029.. Want to be mad at anyone be mad at MicroSoft..

I guess Amcrest just EOL all out dated cameras and stop supporting them altogether and that will cure the whole idea of a Class Action. Force Users to Buy NEW cameras that work with Chrome.. Yes to be honest that is what they should do.. LOL there are so many other people out there that are Killing cameras that people have bought for more then what Amcrest cameras cost to start with. Forcing people to buy new by taking away features they bought years ago when it was offered.. No one will stop them from EOL and not supporting a old camera that is out of date and needs to be E-Wasted.

Love how people feel like they are OWED something.
Be Safe.
