Difference between "Regular" and "MD" recording

Newbie here..... Trying to setup a 4 camera system. Setting up the schedule for recordings and don't see an explanation what Regular is. Thanks for your help.

REGULAR records non-stop the times you schedule. MD is will record only when it detects motion.
