DAV format no longer available for download after latest firmware update

Hello.

After installing the latest firmware onto my Amcrest Pro HD camera, the only available format to download is MP4, when before it was both MP4 and DAV. However, MP4 files do not have audio.

I was using a solution that someone posted and that was to download the video in DAV format, then use the Smart Play program to convert it to AVI. That way I could have videos with audio. I really need to be able to have audio in my videos, but now I can't because DAV format is not an option, only MP4. Could someone please provide a resolution? Thank you.

Hello Terry ,

The new MP4 format does have audio. Please login to camera settings on the web interface and go to set up > Video > Audio and make sure that the encode mode is AAC. Also try increasing the MIC volume.

So the latest firmware update for IP2M-841 has support for mp4 instead of just DAV?

Is that correct Melvin?

I've read that it has a lot of other issues though..

Yes the latest firmware for IP2M841B has MP4 support. Most of the issues after the update can be resolved by hard resetting the camera.

Hello Melvin. I have the audio encoding set to AAC and the microphone volume is turned all the way up, but there is still no sound in the downloaded files.

So are you not getting audio on downloaded files only. Does playback on the camera has audio? Have you tried playing the video in VLC media player?

One final option will be to try hard resetting the camera and try again. You will have to configure the camera to the network again once reset is done. you need to press and hold the indicator light on the back of the camera for 10 - 15 seconds. The light will turn red and the camera will do its initial pan/tilt after this. You need to set up the camera once again after this as it will reset all the settings

My bad. I meant to say when I download the file, there is no sound.

I have some more information. I bought a card reader from Best Buy and inserted the micro SD card into it and transferred the files to my computer that way. The files had the audio. So it seems somehow the "web download" plugin isn't downloading the audio to the file.
