Greetings. I have 7 camera set up at remote vacation home (each one is an Amcrest IP2M-841). I am able to view them in my Iphone with the Amcrest app as well as IP Camera Viewer. I've attempted to add the cameras to Blue Iris and other Iphone camera viewers without success.
A few issues:
--I added the camera in the front of the house, using the correct IP address and port (e.g., xx.xx.xxx.xx:8010). However, the camera from the kitchen appears on screen (which is on port 8020). As noted above, the remote access works perfectly with the the Amcrest app as well as IP Camera Viewer so I know I'm entering the correct address. I verified that I entered the correct make/model of the camera (Amcrest IP2M-841) as well as the correct user name and password.
--The pan/tilt controls do not work within Blue Iris or the other Iphone app. The image remains static.
--When I add a second camera to Blue Iris or the other Iphone app (e.g., the garage), it shows a black screen and "inactive."
I AM able to access each camera successfully if I access them via the web (e.g., IE). The only glitch seems to be adding them to Blue Iris and other Iphone apps (besides Amcrest Viewer and IP Camera Viewer).
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
Blue Iris: Same Camera Regardless of Port
Re: Blue Iris: Same Camera Regardless of Port
The first question are you local or remote to the cameras? If remote, are you using the public IP address at you vacation home and have you set up port forwarding on the router at your vacation home? Accessing cameras that are remote is different than local. The Amcrest app takes care of that stuff and is transparent to the user.
Re: Blue Iris: Same Camera Regardless of Port
Yes, I am talking about remote access (all set to wireless IP). I've played around a bit and found that selecting a different Amcrest model within Blue Iris gets the correct camera to be retrieved and the correct image to be displayed. However, the camera seems "frozen" (PTZ does not work). Also, the cameras go in/out constantly ("no signal"). Most of the time it says "I/O Error 0". Neither of these is a problem on my Iphone with Amcrest's app or IP Cam Viewer.
Note: I discovered that I have to totally close out all ip camera apps on my Iphone for Blue Iris to recognize any cameras and I have to close/re-open Blue Iris after adding a camera for it to be recognized by the program (same thing when I change certain settings).

Re: Blue Iris: Same Camera Regardless of Port
Blue Iris is a resource hog. I have the paid version and never use it. I installed it at a client's house and it's been a nightmare. When I say remote, Imean you're nit at the same house.
I would recommend using a DNS service. I think Amcrest offers it. I use Dyn. For yoyr vacation home, you need to access it via the public IP. You need to set all this up when you are there. Every camera needs to be set up in your router's port forwarding. You also need to program the DNS stuff into one of your cameras so if/when your public IP changes, your DNS services tracks it. I only access my cameras using my DNS address. I never use the internal IP addresses. Even if I'm local. I don't use Amcrest's app either. I use Tinycam but it's only available for Android.

Re: Blue Iris: Same Camera Regardless of Port
Let me offer some clarifications. I have already set up everything at the vacation home (including port forwarding). I am remotely accessing them successfully from my Iphone apps 250 miles away. I can also access them from my IE browser (again, 250 miles away). Everything has been working fine for a month after initial set up. I'm having this experience only with any and all NEW apps/software I have installed to access the cameras. As mentioned in my first post, this is not limited to just Blue Iris. It is assorted Iphone apps I've tried as well. The original Iphone apps (IP Cam Viewer and Amcrest) and access via IE continue to work flawlessly. Bottom line: I simply can't get Blue Iris and other apps besides IP Cam Viewer and Amcrest to work.
Re: Blue Iris: Same Camera Regardless of Port
I use Amcrest Pro HD RTSP/HPPT for all the Amcrest cameras I have. I have my url as xxxxxxx.dyndns.org:<port>
Re: Blue Iris: Same Camera Regardless of Port
I read where t84a "used" to use Blue Iris... I agree, its a resource hog! What software do you recommend for multiple IP cameras? I currently am monitoring 7.
