Black Rectangles = Defective Camera?

Post by birdwatcher »

Hi,

I setup a new IP4M-1026 camera today and after a few minutes of use, these black rectangles showed up on the feed (see attached). I rebooted the camera and the rectangles are still there. Out of the box, the camera came with the latest firmware version.

Is this camera defective?

Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum...

Yes please send me the camera I will dispose of it for your LOL NO NO I am just joking....

No that is because your camera was setup by someone that turned on the Masking feature and left the Masks in place the way they come when you turn them on...

You will want to log into the camera by going to the camera IP address, Go to Setup, Then Click Video on the left, Then click in top center OVERLAY Then you will see it would say Enabled.. Click on Disable and then down below press Save...
